LIFE OF JIMI HENDRIX
Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, Seattle, at King County Hospital, of
an Amerindian mother and African-American father. Initially it was called Johnny
Allen Hendrix, they changed the name for the deceased brother of his father,
James Marshall Hendrix.
His parents often had arguments in front of their children, in addition to both having
problems with alcohol, their arguments were more violent, this led Jimi and his
brothers to be more shy and have an unpleasant childhood
Since he was a child, Hendrix became passionate about the world of music, for
example, at Horace Man Elementary school, he took the broom from cleaning
supplies and pretended to play the guitar, which caught the attention of the
assistants.
He started playing around the age of 14, after finding a single string ukulele in the
trash and starting to learn on his own, singing some Elvis Presley songs. At age 15
he bought his first acoustic guitar for only $ 5.
Jimi Hendrix's mother Lucille Jeter was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, a
disease that led to her death on February 2, 1958, when Jimi was only 15 years
old. His father, knowing the pain this meant for his son, worked to buy his first
electric guitar.
At 18 years of age he was surprised by the police driving a stolen car, which is why
he joined the Army instead of going to prison on May 31, 1931. Due to Jimi's
attachment to his guitar, he spoke with his father so he could get it to the
establishment. After training 8 months parachuting, he was decorated with his
respective badge.
By February 1962 the platoon leader discovered that Jimi Hendrix had no interest
in the Army and that he was a low-skilled soldier. Having said that, he was granted
a license and finished his time in the Army. It is also said that Jimi got his license
declaring himself Homosexual.

MUSICAL WORK
Shortly after acquiring his first $ 5 guitar he formed his first band called "The
Velvetones", which was disbanded by Jimi joining the Army, after Jimi spoke with
his father to bring the guitar to the establishment. to play and caught the attention
of a soldier named Billy Cox, who borrowed a bass and began playing with Jimi
forming the band "The Casuals"

In January of 1964 Jimi thought about going out to look for opportunities to grow in
the field of music and moved to Harlem, where he won a talent contest and played
with different bands.
He was given the opportunity to join as accompanist guitarist to "The Isley
Brothers" with whom he played for 8 months before joining "Little Richard" with
whom he recorded singles and appeared for the first time in television programs
increasing his fame more and more .
Hendrix felt limited by being part of a band so he decided to move to Greenwich
Village, New York, where he was offered to be a resident artist of Café Wha?
Chas Chandler, former bassist of "The Animals" was looking for new artists, and
when he was passing through the Café Wha? He was surprised by the virtuosity of
Hendrix and offered to be his manager and travel to England, he accepted on the
condition that he presented Eric Clapton, voice and guitar of the band "Cream"
which was very famous at the time, about all for the ability to play the guitar
Clapton had, called "God" by the young.
After spending two weeks in London, he attended a concert of "Cream" and had
the audacity to ask to improvise with Eric Clapton, already on stage Jimi Hendrix
dazzled playing "Killing Floor" by "Howlin 'Wolf", he played guitar between the legs,
behind the head, he would get on his knees and even touch with his teeth. Clapton
was shocked, dropped the guitar from his hands and left the stage. That day was
known as the day Hendrix killed God.
Then Chas Chandler creates his own trio of talented with Jimi and two English
musicians for bass and drums forming the band "The Jimi Hendrix Experience"
their songs soon reached the top of the British charts. From this moment Jimi
Hendrix was the monster of the guitar and continued playing in festivals and
recording albums until September 18, 1970
Hendrix was an innovator, he developed the techniques like Dive Bombs and the
effects of the electric guitar until he gave it his own entity, by means of the
saturation of sound in the amplifiers and the use of the wah-wah pedal to generate
sound effects, added this his movements on the stage.
