4110/4590/4595 - Install the USB Driver

The USB Driver must be installed on the PWS to enable

communication between the PWS and IOT.
Some PWS configurations will auto detect and install the USB
Driver from the CD the first time the IOT connection is made with
the USB cable. If your laptop does not automatically install the
driver, use the following procedure.
Note: The PWS must be connected to a 4110/4590/4595 IOT
that is powered on to install the USB driver on the PWS.

Note: After install, the USB Driver will only appear in the Device
Manager Configuration window on the PWS when the IOT is
connected to the PWS.

1. Insert the Multi Product PWS Diagnostic Tool Update CD

into the PWS CD-ROM drive.
2. Connect the USB cable between the PWS and the IOT.
Note: If you cancel the InstallShield Wizard without loading the
USB Driver, the InstallShield Wizard may automatically
associate the USB Device with the IOT. You must disconnect
the USB cable from the PWS and then reconnect the cable to
relaunch the wizard.
3. Switch ON the IOT power. If the USB driver is not installed
on the PWS, the “Found New Hardware Wizard” will be
launched as the PWS attempts to associate a Driver with the
printer (IOT).
4. If the PWS does not automatically detect the USB Driver
(this may take up to five minutes), select the “No, not this
time” radio button then select Next.
5. Select “Install from a list or specific location
(Advanced)”. Select Next to continue.
6. Select “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install.”
Select Next.
7. Select Have Disk at the “Select the device driver you want
to install for this hardware” message. Ignore the message
that this driver is not digitally signed.
8. At the “Install from Disk” window, browse to the 4110_4590
USB Driver folder.
9. Open the PfxUsbd.inf file.
10. Select OK then select Next. Select “Continue anyway”
when the Hardware Install Warning message appears.
11. Select Finish and close the windows.

UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Uninstall the 4110/4590/4595 USB Driver
1. To uninstall the driver, you must be connected to the IOT.
Connect the USB cable between the PWS and the IOT.
Switch the IOT power ON.
2. Select Start, Settings, Control Panel, and System.

3. In the System Properties box, select Hardware and Device
Manager.
4. Under “Universal Serial Bus Controllers” there will be “Fuhjin
Xerox PWS USB Interface driver for 2nd generation”. Select
Action, Uninstall, and OK to uninstall the driver.
