Traditional games also known as society games in which a recreation activity that not
only has purpose to entertain them / our self but also as a device or tool to keep
relationship and society enjoyment. Traditional games contain variety of values; they are
integrity, togetherness, harmony, cooperative, tenacity and physic management. So,
traditional games are the children necessity to help their development phase. Except
parent who have obligation to guide them to choose games which not only for
entertainment but also educate is teachers in school. Refer on that concerning, the teachers
of Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten still conserve traditional games.
This research has purpose for: (1) Describing traditional games which are usually
played by children in Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten, (2) Describing teacher’s reason
at Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten using traditional games. (3) Describing the rule and
way on traditional games mentioned at Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten. (4)
Describing social interaction values which is appear on traditional games.
Result of the research are : (1) Traditional games which is usually played by children
at Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten are Ular Naga, Jamuran, Pasaran, Jaranan, Cublek
Suweng and foot ball. (2) Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten’s teacher’s reason of why
introduce traditional games mentioned before, because through traditional games contains
creativity values, therapy and also can develop children’s complex shrewdness. (3)
According to common or general rule or the way of traditional games that mentioned
before at Bedug Dharma Wanita Kindergarten are consist of preparation phase, playing
phase and last phase where every games has different ways or rules . (4) Social interaction
values that appear on traditional games which are usually played by children such as
football contains cooperative, competitive value. Ular Naga game contains cooperative,
socialization and harmony value. On Pasaran game contains helper spirit and respect of
differences. Cublek Suweng game contains cooperative and value of harmony. And Jamuran
game contains harmony and socialization values
