Criteria for coursebook assesment

a) Objectives explicitly laid out in an introduction, and implemented in the material;

b) Approach educationally and socially acceptable to target


community ;
c) Clear attractive layout; print easy to read Appropriate visual materials available
Interesting topics and tasks;

d) Varied topics and tasks, so as to provide for different earner levels,


learning styles, interests, etc. ;

e) Clear instructions;

f) Systematic coverage of syllabus ;

g) Content clearly organized and graded (sequenced by difficulty) ;


h) Periodic review and test sections;
I) Plenty of authentic language;

j) Good pronunciation explanation and practice;


k) Good vocabulary explanation and practice;
l) Good grammar presentation and practice;
m) Fluency practice in all four skills

n)Encourages learners to develop own learning strategies and to


become independent in their learning ;

o) Adequate guidance for the teacher; not too heavy preparation load
p) Audio cassettes;
