Employment Experience
YOUTH COUNSELOR | CHILDREN’S HOME OF STOCKTON | DECEMBER 2017-MAY 2018
· Being in the position of a Youth Counselor at the Children’s Home allowed me to gain further insight
into the lives of the adolescents in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. I was able to act as both
a parent and counselor who was available for their different crisis situations. Through group therapy
and counseling coursework, the students are now on their way to becoming better citizens by learning
to deal with their difficult situations in a productive and healthy way while being in a sheltering and
nurturing environment.

ASSISTANT TEACHER | ST. ANDREW’S NEWDAY PRESCHOOL | JANUARY 2018-MAY 2018

· Working at St. Andrew’s gave me the privilege to work with children from the ages of 2-5 years in
ensuring their educational and emotional growth while in a school setting. No matter if it was teaching
lessons, recess or down time, there was always an opportunity for the children to learn more and grow
with their peers and with their families.
BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN | CENTRIA HEALTHCARE | SEPTEMBER 2017-JANUARY 2018
· Working at Centria allowed me to gain access into the intricate world of autism through the use of
therapy. I was able to learn much about the different areas of autism and what to do in certain
situations in order to make the therapy more efficient and comfortable for the children. With the use of
flashcards, repetitive motions and language, these children are able to get closer to living a fulfilling and
happy life despite their illness.

Volunteer Experience
COMMUNITY OUTREACH ADVOCATE | FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL | JUNE 2012-MAY 2014
· With the First 50, there were so many objectives that needed to be completed in the city, but we chose
to work on connecting the youth in the area with the resources necessary to succeed throughout life
and beautifying the city. We started different projects that included painting fences and houses and
doing yard work for those who could not. We also set up a press conference talking about the different
ways youth of today could be given outlets in order to express themselves where I was the main
speaker.

TUTOR | WILHEMENIA HENRY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | JANUARY 2010-MAY 2012

· Volunteering with the community’s STEP-UP Program allowed me to inspire the children to further
their education and creative processes in the classroom through the use of tutoring with homework,
mentoring with various school-related issues, connecting through the use of free time and promoting
social interaction and growth.
