SUCCESSION

PLANNING
From Principle to Practice

An interactive, hands-on planning

experience for businesses nearing transition
Beginning October 18, 2018
Succession Planning: From Principle to Practice
Succession Planning: From Principle to Practice will help 15 small business owners plan for the sale or
transition of their company. Through in-class training, 1-on-1 coaching, peer-to-peer networking, and hands-
on exercises, participants will learn how to create a succession plan tailored to their business’ needs.

Specifically, participants will:

• Better understand the need for succession planning and eliminate common succession barriers.
• Understand the many different succession planning approaches and identify which one is best suited
for their business.
• Hear from other businesses that have successfully executed a succession plan.
• Learn strategies that can help make their business ‘sellable’.
• Examine and reflect on their business’ strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in relation
to succession planning.
• Work one-on-one with a Business Counsellor to tailor the training content to their own
circumstances.
• Build a network of people and organizations that can help them with various aspects of their
succession plan.
