MATERIAL YOU NEED


- Mercerized cotton in Dark Brown, White, Orange, Light Orange, Black, Red, Green and a
small amount of Light Pink.
- 2.50 mm crochet hook (or the size you need depending on your type of yarn)
- Tapestry Needle
- Polyester stuffing
- 12 mm safety eyes
- Black embroidery floss
- Sewing thread
- Locking stitch marker

Approximate size of a Porg: 20x12 cm

Yarn used for the pattern is Scheepjes Catona in the colors: Dark Brown #507, White #106,
Orange #281, Light Orange #411, Black #110, Red #390, Green #515, Light Pink #222

You are going to crochet in a continuous spiral, do not join the rounds.
Use a locking stitch marker to mark the beginning of the rounds.

EYES (make 2)
With white yarn
Start with a magic ring (do not pull it togheter to tight)
R1: 8 sc into the magic ring (8)

Change to light orange yarn
R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x4, 1 sc, ch 1 and turn
R4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x4, 1 sc, ch 1 and turn

Fasten all the threads
Take a 12 mm safety eye and put it through the hole in the eye panel, do NOT attach the
backpiece of the safety eye.

Now it’s time to single crochet all the way around the piece starting at the top. In every
corner facing inwards do 2 sc in the same st.
Cut the yarn and fasten all threads.
Pin the panel to the porg’s body. Put the upper part of the panel a little bit under the white
part of the eyes. Sew the panel on with white sewing thread
Take some light orange sewing thread and start to sew the eye panel to the head. Sew on
the white part of the eye with white thread.
Embroid a black upside down U as a mouth with 2 strands of black embroidery floss.

MOUTH PIECE
With white yarn
Ch 19
R1: Start in the secong ch from the hook, sc in each ch, ch 1 and turn (18)
R2: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (24)
Fasten all the threads.
Pin the piece to the porgs face and sew it on.
Embroid a pair of nostrils with 2 strands of black embroidery floss.

PIECE ABOVE THE EYES


With light orange yarn
Ch 5
R1: Start in the secong ch from the hook, sc in each ch, ch 1 and turn (4)
R2: 1 inc, 1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 inc (6)
Fasten all the threads.
Pin the piece to the space above the top of the white panel between the orange eye pieces.
Sew it on with light orange sewing thread

WINGS (make 2)
With brown yarn
Start with a magic ring

Change to orange
R3: [1 inc] x5 (10)
R4-7: 10 sc (4 rounds, 10)
Fasten the threads and cut off the yarn on the two first toes.
Do not cut of the yarn when you are finished with the third toe.

FEET (do 2 times)


Now you are going to crochet the toes togheter by crocheting around the toes to make the
feet.
Take one toe thats going to be the middle toe and put it beside the toe that still has yarn
attached to it.
R1: Crochet 5 sc along the middle toe then take the third toe and crochet all the way around
that toe = 10, continue and do 5 sc on the middle toe and then do 10 sc along the first toe =
30 sc
R2: 8 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec, 10 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc (26)
R3-4: 26 sc (2 rounds, 26)
R5: 7 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec, 8 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc (22)

Start stuffing and keep doing that as the hole becomes smaller

LEGS (make 2)
With orange yarn
Ch 12
R1: Start in the first ch so the piece will be joined into a ring, 1 sc in each ch (12)
R2-8: 12 sc (7 rounds, 12)
Cut the yarn but leave a long Yarn tail for sewing.

Pin the leg part on top of the feet and sew it on.
Pin both legs with attached feets to the Porg’s body and sew them on.

CHEEKS (make 2)
With pink yarn
Make a magic ring
R1: 6 sc into the magic ring (6)
sl in the first dc, fasten off leaving a 10 cm long tail for sewing.
Sew the cheeks to the Porg.

XMAS HAT
BRIM
With green
Ch 4
R1: Start in the first ch, 1 sc in each ch (3)
R2: In back loops only, 3 sc, ch 1 and turn (3)
R3: In front loops only, 3 sc, ch 1 and turn (3)
Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you have a total of 54 rounds.
Place the ends of the brim with wrong side facing togheter and slip stitch them togheter
with 3 sl.

BODY OF THE HAT


With green
R1: sc in each end row around the edge of the brim (54)
Change to red
R2-5: 54 sc (4 rounds, 54)
