Greetings!

In the upcoming centennial commemoration of the founding of Jose Rizal Memorial

Library and Museum, we would like to express a partnership with the Cebu City
Government and Cebu City Public Library to host our wonderful event, Catch up,
Pepe! Isang Bayani: Isang Siglo, by Banggiitan Productions, in partial
fulfillment of our requirements in Philippine Institutions 100.

Banggiitan Productions is a student-organized group in the University of the

Philippines Cebu, who are passionate in promoting history and culture in Cebu. We are
planning to host the event this April 21, 2018, from 6pm to 9pm, in the Sinulog Hall of
the Jose Rizal Memorial Library and Museum.

Cath up, Pepe!, is a web-series launching event that aims to promote videos
presentations on the perceptions of multisectoral groups if Jose Rizal was alive today and
tackling socially-relevant issues and common millennial problems. Farmers, fisherman,
youth, and other multisectoral groups will be showcased in the series of videos voicing
out their opinions and insight of Jose Rizal.

Isang Bayani: Isang Siglo, is the theme that we will be
adapting for the celebration of the upcoming centennial anniversary of the Jose Rizal
Memorial Library and Museum. Banggiitan productions plans to initiate a fund-raising
activity that can help operate the Cebu City Public Library in its endeavors as being one
of the country’s pioneer of having a 24/7 library accessible to the masses. All proceeds of
the activity will go directly to the Cebu City Public Library.

In line with this, Banggiitan Productions plan to invite Prof. Ambeth R. Ocampo,
PhD, associate professor in Ateneo de Manila University, author of Rizal Without the
Overcoat, former chair of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts, as our keynote speaker in giving out his
expert opinion and analysis of the multisectoral views of Rizal. We would also be inviting
local experts who can share their critics as panel of Prof. Ocampo.

As part of our commitment in promoting honor and excellence in culture and education
for the Cebuano youth, we would be opening the event FREE TO ALL.
