PhD Plan Template

No later than three months after admission, the PhD student must submit an approved PhD plan to the Humanities
Faculty Office. The PhD plan must be approved by the principal supervisor, the programme director and the head of the
department. The time limit of three months applies to both full-time and part-time students. The PhD plan must contain
the following and comprise about 10 pages:

Agreement on the type of supervision provided

The principal supervisor is responsible for the full PhD study. It must be stated in the PhD plan how the supervision is going
to be carried out.

PhD Courses

A tentative plan for PhD course participation. The total amount of ECTS for the period of enrolment must correspond to
approximately 30 ECTS points. Further information about ECTS- valued activities can be found on the website of the
doctoral school. The course plan must be prepared in cooperation with principal supervisor.
Participation in active research environments

A tentative plan for stays at other research institutions, including institutions abroad.
