E4  Aggregate Tests: Sieve analysis (C.A. and F.A.); Bulking of
-do- sand; Aggregate crushing value (C.A.); Absorption (C.A. and
F.A.); Unit weights (C.A. and F.A.)

E5  Tension test of MS, HYSD, HT bars: Yield/ Proof stress, UTS,

Young's modulus, % of elongation.
-do-  Compressive strength of five bricks (Pre-conditioning).

NOTE: Test the bricks after seven days of preconditioning.

NOTE: Fixing gage points to RC beam
E6 26/8  Testing of RC beam, 3 control cubes

E8 2/9  Testing of steel beam

NOTE: Post-tensioning and grouting of PC beam.
E7 9/9  Concrete mix design and slump test; Demonstration of flow
table, compacting factor and V.B. tests.
 Casting of 9 cubes, 6 cylinders, 3 prisms; 3 FRC prisms
E9 16/9  Testing of PC beams and 3 control cubes.
E10 7/10  Properties of hardened concrete and FRC specimens.
 Compressive strength of 3 cubes by NDT, Indirect tensile
strength of 3 cylinders and 3 FRC cylinders, Modulus of
rupture of 3+3 prisms (2-point and central loading) and 3 FRC
prisms
E11 21/10  Study and fixing of electrical resistance strain gages.
E12 28/10  Determination of E value, Poisson's ratio, Stress Intensity
E13 Factor.
 Calibration of load cells.
 Dynamics of SDOF, MDOF
 Photo-elasticity
4/11  TEST & VIVA

Notes
1. Concrete cubes & cylinders are to be tested after 7 and 28 days of casting
2. Mortar cubes are to be tested after 3 and 7 days of casting.
3. Bricks are to be tested after preconditioning and curing.
4. Strain gages are to be fixed on the specimens to be tested at least two days
before testing.
5. Holidays/ Mid Semester examination - 23/09, 30/9, 14/10
