1 Drive Test Procedure & Methodology

DT Route

Drive-test Route shall be proposed to Vietnamobile for approval. No DT shall be conducted not
unless there is an approval from VNM. DT route should be detailed as possible to capture the full
coverage and quality of the network. Identify the route per clutter type: DU, U, SU, R

Procedure
a) Input entire network sites list, digital map and cluster border into MapInfo.
b) Create a map layer on digital map.
c) In the new layer, indicate the test start and draw the folded line with an arrow to
indicate the test route, indicate the test end.
d) Keep the design and agree with customer.

A test route KPIs shall be selected as much as possible based on covered all the scenarios in this
test area, all the cells as much as possible, considered the actual conditions, one day working
load.
If the customer has a predefined DT route, the DT route of KPIs shall cover the predefined DT
route. If the predefined DT route is not covered due to some objective factors, you need to
describe this case in time.

DT Tool Setup

All UEs are placed in the middle of the car. No UE shall be placed near the windows (front or
side). No external antenna shall be used.

The Drive Test will be done with TEMS (or any approved DT tool by VNM). Time for RFCU
measurement is 24h/7d window, while PAT measurement is from 08.00 am to 11.00 pm during working
days. The maximum speed of the drive-test car is 40 km to 50 km per hour. Binning (10m x 10m in city,
50x50m out of city) shall be used for coverage and quality DT KPIs.

2 Test Area
2.1 Cluster Topology
Cluster means a group of sites (Normally 20-25 sites) which are geographically neighboring sites.
The actual site number of each cluster should be flexible to allow a fast rollout and acceptance. The
cluster definition and drive test route will be planned in advance and mutually agreed by both parties.
