1. Title of the Project:- Women Safety Android App

INTRODUCTION:-

The project is about designing a Women Safety Android App. Women are accomplished at
mobilizing diverse groups for frequent causes. They often work across racial, sacred,
opinionated, and intellectual divides to encourage tranquillity. We are aware of importance of
women's security, but we must recognize that they should be well secured. A Woman is not much
powerful when compared to men physically, in a crisis situation and needs a helping hand to
relieve them. The best way to minimize chances in becoming a victim of violent crime (robbery,
sexual assault, rape, domestic violence) is to identify and call on resources to help you out of
unsafe situations. Whether you are in instant trouble or got separated from friends during night
and do not know how to get home, having these apps on your phone can diminish your risk and
bring assistance when you require it.

WORKING:
In this project, Initially, we have to enter the four contact numbers of police, family members and friends in to
the application say and click on “save” button. While travelling, run the application and whenever need arises,
click “start” button. As soon as “start” button pressed, it firsts make a call to the first saved registered contact
number and also sends the message containing location URL of the victim to all the contact numbers.Unique
feature of this app is message with location URL is sent continuously to the registered contact numbers for
every five minutes until “stop” button is clicked. So, continuous location tracking of victim is possible with this
application

3. TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE PROJECT:

Objective: To design an android app that ensures the safety of women. It reduces the risk and helps us in
need by identifying the location of person who is in danger. Also the activation of messages when the user has
its battery percentage of phone below 10%.
Also android app will send the location of person who is in danger when the person shouts when the device is
with person. (The Device will detect the voice and the at a particular pitch of voice the app will send the
location to the preferred contacts.)

 Developing An Android Application using Core Java and Android Studio. As far as Android App
development strategy is concerned this project is based on Agile Methodology which guarantees to
fulfill end users requirement and multiple sprints.
 Interfacing hardware (Android Smart phone , Computer) with Android application developed in
above step.

BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION:
BAR CODE READER (CCD READER)
A bar code reader is a handheld stationary input device used to capture information contained in a bar
code. In our project, we are using CCD reader as it develops a voltage pattern identical to pattern in a
bar code. This pattern is developed using array of tiny sensors used for measuring voltages across
them.

IDENTITY CARDS/ SMART CARDS HAVING UNIQUE BAR CODE

Generally, in college/office or any organization, students as well as staff members are given with an
identity card. This Identity card will be having a unique bar code over it. So that , card can also be used
for payment purpose in canteen.

COMPUTER
In PC, data of all the members of a institute is kept saved in a database prepared using JAVA MySQL.
This data includes member’s personal information such as name, identity number or code, contact
number etc. This data will also be having a unique bar code of every member/customer. Computer will
also keep track record of recharges done, payment information and transaction details. These details
even get regularly updated. All this information will be maintained in a desktop based application
developed using Core JAVA and installed in PC.

GLCD
GLCD stands for Graphical LCD. It is an electronic visual display technology used in different gadgets
and information-output sources, i.e. in display screens of electronic devices.
In our project, we are using JHD12864E Graphical LCD. It has a display format of 128 x 64 dots
with a yellow-green color backlight. This LCD is used to display the customer name and list of
purchased items in canteen at the time of order placing.

PRINTER
Printer is an output device used for generation of receipt.

DATABASE MANAGEMENT USING JAVA-

JAVA is a computer language designed for managing and creating software. Using Core JAVA, we are
designing a desktop based application software.
Using JAVA MySQL, we are handling and managing database.

1. Payment is done with the help of a smart card.
2. No exchange of money is required.
3. Customer is provided with a security pin so that no one else can access the card without
his/her permission. This ensures security of the system.
4. Card can be recharged again if balance present in it becomes insufficient.

4. Secured system as no one can access card without a security pin.

7. Future Aspects:
System can be used to pay taxes, duties if connected with Aadhar Card.
System can be developed for usage in hostel’s mess , provision stores and stationary.
