First of all the engineering branch people are treated equally during induction program whether you belong to EC, Che,
ME or whosoever is recruited in Executive Cadre.

Well now coming to your question! Well the first 14 day Induction program is like a Honeymoon period for new joinees,
You will enjoy your stay in IIPM or some 5 star hotels like Leela Ambience etc with all the luxurious things like great
food, fun activities, new people along with 6–7 hrs of boring lectures from Employees working in different departments
about indian Oil and regarding it's working culture.

After 2 weeks you will be assigned your Division randomly namely Refinery, Marketing, Pipelines or Assam Oil. Then
you will be redirected to your training destinations for your assigned division. Like for Marketing, Regional Offices serve
as Training centre and for Refinery it can be any from 9 IOC's Refineries.

It's now only, you will realise what Indian Oil is and what is going to be your future assignments but still for Refinery
guys 6 months are allotted for Training which includes Refinery Overview, Cross Refinery Training and most
Importantly your Postings!

After posting you will be allotted with a Department and there your final training begins.

Btw after all this, a time will come when responsibility of work will be handed over to you and then your real life at IOCL
starts!

Compared to private jobs pressure here is quite less but unfortunately Refinery locations are mostly away from cities so
no much city Life for you. Instead township will provide you places like swimming pool, clubs, gym etc to cultivate new
hobbies.

Since it's India's highest earning PSU now so you will feel proud to serve your nation in a better way always!

#Edit1

Note this for the 1st six months, you will resist the new environment you are brought in which may be Refinery or a
Marketing locatio, it seems monotonous initially but Gradually after a year things will change. You will love the culture
and people around you, if are a bit friendly person then this is best place for you!

Even as per my personal experience being in private job was more monotonous and competitive than here and especially
marketing people gets more stuffs like regular seminars, trainings and travels. Since they are face of company they are
directly related to retailers which has their own perks. If You think going to clubs and keeping your head under loud
noises will help you to run away from reality then best of luck with your job in metro cities!

Note :Btw if you see the life from someone else's prism, it will always look different. Some people try to understand the
beauty and some points out the flaws!

Nothing is perfect, so how can job at IOCL be perfect but still see the positive side there are less negatives :D

IOCL spends money without thinking for Probationary Officers during training. I would like to share all. Electronics
profile were given Pipeline and Marketting division. For Marketting total 6 weeks training was there. For pipelines total
5 week there. The whole training starts with

1. 2-week Induction Training in two 5 star hotel- Leela Ambience, karkarduma and The Bristol, gurgaon.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner included. Yoga classes in morning. Buffet system in cafeteria. You are going to love
these 2 weeks. Our batch had 70 engg.
2. After division allotation the big group of 70 engg divided into small groups of Refineries, marketting, pipeline
and these groups send by Airlines (mainly Airindia). 36 Officers for pipelines, 26 for Marketting, 1 for R&D etc.
3. I am in Marketting division. We have Training for one month in Southern region (Tamilnadu). This is further
divided into 2 weeks for classroom training in Chennai. And 2 weeks for Field training in (Madurai, trichy,
Coimbatore) . Southern Region, I would say is THE BEST Region for Training. The total 26 Probationary
officers in marketting batch were further divided into groups of 9,8,9 for madurai, trichy, coimbatore
respectively and sent to respective locations in 2nd AC. During these 2 weeks we were in Ambassador
Pallava hotel, Chennai.
4. I was in Madurai group and hotel was again 3 star Fortune PandiyanThe schedule consists of visiting LPG
plant, Aviation and terminal.
5. After getting posting, again we were sent by Airlines. This time cost of flight were high (20k, 15k,30k), and
maximum in our batch was 36K ticket because of change of flights.
6. Now accomodation depends on your location. I got housing complex in ujjain; 2 BHK flat the same day i
arrived. Big rooms are here. Yes sports complex, Gym is not present right now, may be in future.
And main thing u still get salary that too 55k. for training in which u didnt spend single Penny except for yourself. There
would be delux bus, traveller to receive from Airport , railway station to etc.

From all this training accomadation and ambience you can imagine how well IOCL take care of their employees.

The initial training period is called your honeymoon period. You will get all the luxury facilities you would have wished.

But the real journey starts after you get posted to your location.

IOCL being such a big PSU has wide variety of work profiles, different postings across length and breadth of the country.

The life of an IOCL officer depends on a no. Of conditions i.e place of posting, type of work profile, distance from your
hometown and last but not the least, your boss.

Money is never going to be a matter of concern for an IOCL officer. You can live a decent life with your salary you are
getting here. You get all the facilities like car loan, home loan , furniture, laptop every 3 years, mobile every 2 years,
Internet allowance , mobile bill allowance, conveyance allowance, spectacles etc apart from your salary.

If you are willing to work in techno-managerial kind of job and have no issues with different postings across the country,
then this job is good for you.
