FOOD/GUM/DRINKS/ELECTRONICS: Absolutely nothing that could be perceived as a distraction from academic engagement is
allowed; including dangling headsets or in-ear headsets. If in doubt – KEEP IT HIDDEN or ask for permission when appropriate.
The policy is simple to avoid misunderstandings and wasting instructional time, “IF I SEE – I CONFISCATE.” First offense, pick up
after school. Second offense, item will be given to office and parents may have to pick up confiscated items.

MAKEUP EXAMS & LATE WORK: NO LATE WORK, ONLY WITH DOCTOR NOTE. A late or not completed EXAM OR QUIZ if
not completed within three days of return to class will receive a zero. One grade level is lost for each day work is late; submit work to
Mrs. Herrera

PARTICIPATION/points 25 points a week: Student’s positive behavior reinforcement through participation points that contribute TO
their participation grade. Participating means the student has completed as much of an assignment as would be reasonably
expected given their individual abilities and the time allotted for the activity.
EXTRA CREDIT: Extra Credit will consist of museum reports that must adhere to the report assignment guidelines and include the
ticket and an image of you at the site.

TUTORING/SUPPORT: Students are strongly encouraged to attend tutoring on a regular basis. Beginning 2nd week of school I am
available during lunch (Room 202). Any athletes MUST attend tutoring to make up classes missed due to competitions.
