Statistics of removal of uterus of women who live in the shelter
/Govt run homes of the Ministry and/or the NGO’s that are under
the supervision or being regulated /monitored by you/state
department.
2. Information of check and balance, if any, to ensure that uterus
removal is not an excuse for exploitation in the aforesaid shelters.

Ironical facts:- India is a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of
Persons with Disabilities 2007, which guarantees all intellectually disabled women “the
right to full bodily integrity”. But it is practice to conduct hysterectomies or sterilizations
on mentally challenged girls, by state agencies in government-run homes or shelters.
