ShipNet One Procurement is live!

“ With the Procurement elements and the

upgrades to the Safety, Planned Maintenance
and Certificate modules, today the ShipNet One
system is more integrated than ever.

-- Frederik Lerche-Tornoe
ShipNet Programme Manager

Welcome to the ShipNet Newsletter. This communication channel will be providing news,
stories, tips & tricks for the ShipNet Systems: ShipNet One, ShipNet Mobility PMS and
ShipNet Mobility WMS. The ShipNet Team wants you to be up-to-date with the
developments of our new tools.

On Saturday 1st October at 17:00 CET, the completion of the ShipNet One rolled-out on
shore followed by a success full roll-out to four pilot vessels was completion. Our colleagues
in Copenhagen, Manila and Singapore have had a first grip of this system, processing their
first orders. So far, it’s all progressing well.

As you can read in this First Edition of the ShipNet Newsletter, it has been a long journey to
get us to where we are today. It has required a great effort from a lot of dedicated people. I
have personally spent 3+ years on this mission, with its ups and downs. But looking at where
we are today, I consider it has been a fight worth fighting.

We do not have a perfect system yet -no new system is - but we have a platform that will
serve us well for the years to come and that is also ready to have new ideas and
improvements made to it. Besides the Procurement elements, we have also upgraded the
Safety, Planned Maintenance and Certificate modules. Today, the ShipNet One system is
more integrated than ever.

This complete change of platform has enabled the development and roll-out of the Mobility
solution, which we also believe will be a great step forward for all of you on the vessels.

It has been and absolute pleasure to work with all the dedicated people that have made this
roll-out possible and I am very much looking forward to getting feedback from all the end
users on how we can make this system make even better.

may encounter. We are doing our utmost to address them and fix them as soon as
possible in the upcoming releases.

The ShipNet One Project

What is ShipNet One?

 ShipNet One is a system that shares data between
vessels and shore
 The system integrates multiple modules, enabling
analysis and decision making

Why did we need a new system?

 The current systems did not provide the transparency nor the
accessibility that the company requires
 The framework was not user friendly: it did not provide an
overview and doing searches was complicated.
 The systems’ mainframes were outdated, making the updates
sub-optimal and costly

What has been done and how?

 User Acceptance Tests : key business scenarios where the
performance and delivery of ShipNet One are tested to verify that
requirements are fulfilled.
 Areas covered in the UAT:
 End to End Procurement (Spares, Lubes, Provisions, Services and Subscriptions)
 Warehousing and LMS Mobility
 Vessel Receipt; Move/Return Orders
 Invoicing & Reporting
 3rd Party Integration (AX, SmartScan, Eyeshare and Jcat)
 Common Stock replenishment
 Export Control
 In total, there were 157 days of testing which involved 35 business
testers trying 98 scenarios
 The ShipNet One developers have gathered feedback. In every
system release there are solutions to the issues detected and
improvements to the system performance.
