Organisational Context
Territory Generation is a Government Owned Corporation that was formed in 2014 as part of the Northern Territory
Government's reforms to the electricity market. We are a Northern Territory Government entity that produces
more than 2000GWh of electricity a year using gas, diesel and solar technologies to power Territory towns and
cities. Our vision is to safely, reliably and efficiently generate electricity to meet the needs of our customers and
to sustainably contribute to the lifestyle and development of the Northern Territory.

Role Responsibilities
Contribute to the business of Territory Generation through the practical application of tertiary acquired skills and
knowledge. The Graduate Program incorporates four rotations across business units and provides graduates with a
comprehensive foundation upon which to build a career in the public sector within the utilities industry.

Participants of the 2019 Graduate Program will experience:


 Two rotations over a 24 month program, commencing February 2019,
 An intensive and engaging development program,
 A comprehensive calendar of learning and development
 A mentor and buddy program to help develop new skills and help you align your experience and knowledge
with the Corporation.
Rotations
During your graduate year, you will work in two to three areas across Territory Generation. The rotations structure
allows us to give our graduates a wide range of experiences. By working across business areas, graduates develop
an understanding of the Corporations work in the power generation industry.

Training & career development


Throughout the program you will be provided with the necessary training and development required to be effective
in your role and to provide you with the foundation skills required to launch your career. Through participation in
the program, graduates will gain relevant knowledge and skills in government administration as well as the
expertise required to be an effective technical specialist within the Territory Generation.

Organisational support
In addition to formal training you will also receive individual support from Buddy’s (former Graduates), Mentors and
from the Graduate Coordinator.

Selection Criteria

Essential
1) Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety
principles, corporate values and strategies.
2) Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively
with different stakeholders and people of diverse cultures.
3) Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to work logically through a process to
identify and resolve technical problems.
4) Commitment to safety and safe working practices.
5) Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and deliver outcomes.
6) Intermediate to advanced computer literacy across a range of software applications.
7) Currently completing a relevant degree or have graduated within the last 2 years

Desirable 
1) Work experience within the Utilities industry
