CIELOMOTOS
The phenomenon of the cielomotos (tremors of the sky) consists in a vibratory wave
apparently caused by a powerful explosion somewhere in the atmosphere. Even
more fleeting than most earthquakes, there are still no photographs or recordings to
help clarify what this mysterious fact is about. Meteorologists do not find logical
explanation. The cielomotos can neither be anticipated nor detected.
NORTHERN LIGHTS
Aurora Borealis is one of the most fascinating natural phenomena that occur on
Earth. They occur around the Arctic (near the North Pole) and in Antarctica (South
Pole). This phenomenon occurs when charged particles are guided by the magnetic
field of the Earth and affect the atmosphere near the poles.
One of the best places to observe this natural phenomenon is Lapland, in northern
Finland. There you can find in full nature and there are large uninhabited areas, we
will also have the best conditions to observe the phenomenon, a crystal sky in a
clear night without the lights of the city, without telecommunications signals and
without polluted air.
Although there are some hypotheses, the reason why these large stones move -
"Sailing Stones" - continues to be a great geological mystery. It is believed that this
is produced by the confluence of several factors: the wind speed, the thin layer of
sand and many other agents.
FAIRY CIRCLE
These rings (fairy, elf or pixie) are a natural phenomenon. A fungus grows in the
shape of a ring or bow in the soil, affects the grass in the area and grows through it
with that silhouette. These rings are considered good luck by some or a dark omen
and unpleasant problem for others.
Scientists still have difficulty explaining the so-called "fairy circles" that occur in
Africa. In Namibia, southern Africa, in uncovered areas, circles are formed in the
sand for unknown reasons. The local tradition and urban legends explains them as
the work of the spirits and the gods of nature.
VOLCANIC LIGHTNING
Another natural event is a kind of electrical storm exploding on the volcano. Why are
these rays produced?
These types of rays have been sighted in many eruptions, including more recently
that of Chaitén in Chile or that of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland. So it's not
that it's a coincidence that "there was just a thunderstorm on top," but something that
regularly happens in volcanic eruptions.
What produces them? Scientists have studied several options, from the
characteristics that make up the clouds, the impact of solar particles, the presence
of ice and other options that can cause the separation between positive and negative
charges in the atmosphere.
