Project evaluation: impact statement

Impact statement:
My project uses a large variety of eco-friendly materials. My wall material (recycled
plastic blocks) is very sustainable, as it recycles plastic waste and produces 95%
lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to regular concrete blocks. This building
material recycles plastic waste from oceans, streets etc. this means that it helps fight
against plastic pollution. It is also energy efficient as it recycles all 7 types of plastic
through using steam and compression. Therefore, this eco-friendly material lets the
environment become cleaner as well as encourage people (through gaining attention
and recognition) to help reduce plastic pollution. Regarding the insulation for the
house, I am going to use aerogel insulation as it’s a good insulator, eco-friendly,
renewable (because it consists of 99% air), strong and lightweight. Additionally, my
thin porcelain tiles are also environmentally friendly.

Overall:
Building materials used for my house are very eco-friendly and sustainable. My wall
material (recycled plastic blocks) helps clean up the environment through recycling
plastic waste. Also, the material is very strong and uses low amounts of energy to
get produced, meaning that it is suitable for North Queensland. However,
transportation may produce large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions, which
results in high carbon footprint levels. The insulation material (aerogel) is renewable,
also meaning that it is environmentally friendly. Also, my thin porcelain tiles are eco-
friendly.
