Move onto the new age of software solutions in the road construction industry. Road Estimator (RE), a robust applica-
tion will ease up the process of section creation and quantity calculations. Sit back and see for yourself how the appli-
cation can do wonders for you. Road Estimator has been designed for automatic generation of cross sections from
your survey data with detailed earthwork quantities with utmost precision.

CAD INTERFACE DATA INPUT

Inbuilt CAD editor with familiar CAD commands to
generate CAD drawing from scratch using designer
and user interface or import DWG/DXF files. Inbuilt
CAD editor has preset and custom toolbars for
increased productivity. Graphic objects include points,
lines, polylines, circles, arcs, ellipses, rectangles, text,
block, insertions, dimensions etc. All objects use the
3D coordinate system. Edit operations include copy,
move, rotate, scale, mirror, explode, erase, trim,
extend, join, break, offset etc. Single objects can be
edited by movind their control points (grips). Supports
Windows Truetype fonts and AutoCAD™ Shape files.
RE supports unlimited number of Chainage data. Data entry
of survey data in terms of Chainage, Offset and Elevation
from Excel/Clipboard. Spreadsheet interface for data
editing, find & replace, copy, paste, row insert etc. Existing
road edges with preset notation as LE & RE for Left and Right
road edges. Formation / proposed level at user defined
offset. Separate definition for left FRL and right FRL as per
site conditions with offset for every chainage.

TEMPLATE CREATION
Easy template definition as per project criteria for various
types of road construction such as EW, NHY, SH, MDR, ODR,
VR, UR, hilly terrain etc. RE supports median, carriageway,
shoulders, side slopes and separators for both side of road
with custom definition of multi-lanes. RE also supports
unlimited lane definitions. You can save all the configuration
settings of template which can be reused in other
projects/stretches saving time. Creation order of road
construction is maintained in the software and can be modi-
fied at any point and the changes are reflected immediately.

RE can automatically interpolate widths & cambers & has facility for super-elevation checks at regular intervals. Berm
width, berm slope and height condition along slopes at high embankment or deep cut sections can be specified and
generated.

SYMBOL
Create any type of symbols and complex shapes such as kerb,
barrier, railing, pole, tree etc. using the inbuilt graphical editor
with ease. You can specify control point to link them to the
cross section.

ROW LIMIT
RE has facility to specify the right of way width in terms of offset
for either side of proposed road construction. Based on the
ROW specification, RE can automatically perform slope adjust-
ment or trimming of template to maintain ROW. RE can also
calculate optimum toe width.

DESIGN LAYER
Unlimited number of layers based on thickness, offset projects, top and bottom camber can be defined with different
color, hatch styles, virtual layer and start/end slopes. RE can automatically trim layers at proposed line with extension on
either edges. Layers with variable thickness can be defined for strengthening of overlays. You can define layers having
automatic intrusion of OGL. Layer definition can be separately saved to file and loaded.
ASH LAYER
Ash layers can be defined based on depth from center / toe and can be adjusted according to the gap within the side slopes.
Layers can be defined with conditional slope & auto-trim and can have hatch & color. Ash layers can be applied to different
parts of road separately.

EMBANKMENT LINE
RE can calculate embankment line’s coordinates automatical-
ly, based on crust thickness, proposed camber and width.
Embankment line is displayed throughout the project for
level table, area & volume calculations. Automatic cutoff
option is available for proposed section in hard soil condition.

FIELD LAYER EMBANKMENT LAYER

Defined unlimited number of as-built layers which can include
soil strata conditions with color, line style and thickness and
option to display levels & offsets in cross section. Automatic
toe calculation based on slope projection with separate fill
and cut condition. Auto-trim facility to trim layers based on
side slope or layer intersection.
Automatic generation of embankment filled with
individual layers based on thickness with automatic
camber correction for adjustment of layers. Embank-
ment layers can auto-project to existing side slopes on
either side. Report is generated with offset and RL
values along with individual layer area for site execu-
tion purpose. Embankment layers can be displayed
along with levels on CS.

PCC
During overlay condition, RE can create profile correc-
tive course automatically. You can provide conditional
material usage patterns for PCC. Design layers are auto-
matically trimmed at BT edges to provide for the PCC
layer creation. PCC layers created are supplemented by
in-depth area & volume report along with material
reports.

ROAD ELEMENTS
RE has built in elements like kerb, retaining wall, gabion
wall and drain. RE supports drains of different type such
as lined, unlined earthen, box etc. with strengthening &
outer walls specification. Drain conditions are auto-de-
tected based on position and invert level. Concrete &
rubble retaining walls of any shape can be created with
auto-detection of height conditions. Elements can auto-
matically modify layers and CS. Gabion with +/- β values
can be defined with pre-configured step details. All
entries are chainage based for flexibility. Additional
elements such as crash barrier, bank, divider, tree or any
other type of element encountered in road cross section
can be inserted as symbols.

LONGITUDINAL PROFILE
RE has interactive editor based display with multiple section selection. Profile is auto-updated based on revised
formation level. You can generate section at multiple offset to determine optimum depth of cut & fill. You can
design vertical alignment with summit and valley curves as per design speed.
VIEW SETTINGS
RE generates sections with individual item such as OGL, FRL etc. in separate layers which has property for color,
linetype, line width, visibility & print option. You can display multi-tiered dimension & depth, grid marker to
graph like appearance, toe marker in cross section. Text height, precision, table widths etc. for level table can be
set. You can change scale at any time with immediate effects.

TABLE
RE can display multiple user configurable tables along with cross section. Tables can consist of area, length,
offset, RL, caption or any other road information. Preview mode is available for report generation with direct
print and transfer facility. Tables support configurable cell alignment, border display & numeric format preci-
sion. User defined formulas is supported.
REPORT
RE can auto-create pre-formatted report for length,
area, volume, PCC etc. Area & volume reports for
earthwork cutting, filling, scarification, dismantling
etc. are generated instantly as per user specification.
