IAM: User Management Concept

High-level User Management concept

• All functionality exposed to the customer is provided as web-enabled user interfaces (Fiori Applications)
• User management in IBP is based on already existing standard structures and persistencies, such as
SU01 (Transaction for User Maintenance) or PFCG (Transaction for Role Maintenance).
• Types of users:
 Business users for consuming the IBP functionality
 Technical users e.g. SAP Support users

• An initial key user, the SAP admin user and technical users are pre-delivered by SAP with the initial IBP
system.
• Business users will be created by the SAP admin user, along with a minimum set of employee data.

IAM: Authorization Concept

High-level Authorization Concept

• Much simpler authorization concept with less artifacts to deal with, less indirections, less hidden meanings
and side-effects
• Authorization concept is still using the PFCG runtime, but hides the complexity by the usage of ‘restrictions’
(more details about restrictions on later in the presentation)
• Maintain authorities via web-enabled user interfaces (Fiori Applications)
