Man prefers dog

over girlfriend
By Caitlin Bewley (1st Yr Swinburne Uni)
A woman has learned a valuable lesson; a dog is man’s best
friend, after harassing her then boyfriend for admiring his
dog more than her.
Jodie Harris was in a relationship with her now ex-boyfriend
for six months before going their separate ways six years ago.
“They broke up because she [Harris] said she was starting to
go a bit crazy,” the accused’s lawyer told the court.
On February 28 of this year, the two decided to give it
another chance and began messaging one another, which
continued on for a few months.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Lisa Schoemaker told the court
that “On April 22 of this year, the victim sent Harris a photo
of him and his dog with the caption ‘the best girl in my life.’”
A raging Harris replied to said message saying the victim
“shouldn’t be calling the dog your girl,” said the prosecutor.
The victim then blocked the accused from being able to
contact him until April 26, when a flood of messages came
through with one stating that she would “shoot his dog.”
The prosecutor said when Harris was questioned by police
she told them that she “said it out of anger.”
The accused’s lawyer told the court that this anger was due
to her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
