from the baskets of mystery ingredients and challenge myself to come up with
better combinations. It is a bit like walking into a stranger’s home and opening the
refrigerator door, then making dinner based on what they have lying around. It is also
a bit like the everyday challenge of trying to eat lower on the food chain and locally
when shopping at the Greenmarket and assembling the best possible meal made from

Nate Wants You To
Know Before Going Into
A Redesign
1. “Money—know how much you have to
spend or set aside for a project.”
2. “Ask yourself: How do you want this space to
function? How do you want to be perceived in this
space and what really is the goal?”
3. Collect images that capture your interest and
put them in a binder. Use this as inspiration.
“Stop. Take a breath and really take
some time assembling images and
ideas that you can then put into
effect with some rhyme
and reason.”

Fall into October’s TV Lineup
By Greg Archer
The big buzz in October is for Carol Burnett’s appearance as Sue Sylvester’s mother on the Fox
sensation Glee—talk about perfect casting—but aside from that milestone, there are a few others
popping up in the TV universe. Take note of what truly captured our attention:
› Sesame Street
So … how is Big Bird coping with middle
age? Just fine, thank you very much. (Oscar
the Grouch—not so much.) Hard to believe
that the venerable Sesame Street turns 41
this season, but it’s true. Lucky for viewers,
the show’s creative team plans to make this
year more memorable with a lesson plan
focusing on science and nature. Better
still, children will be encouraged to “inves-
