Ambitious and compassionate Patient Care technician and nursing student with a passion for service, learning, and
continuous development within the healthcare setting. I have participated in shadowing experiences that included
level one-trauma centers and wound care teams that solidified my decision to pursue a career in critical care settings.
My training includes the ability to work efficiently in emergency situations incorporating the use of communication
skills, critical thinking, and working as a team member.

Clinical Experience
Competencies of Nursing Practice (Spring 2016) 75 hours
This clinical experience was comprised of basic skills, including sterile technique, foley catheter insertion and care,
intake and output and use of glucometers. Direct care simulations and direct care observations were also part of this
clinical experience.

Competencies of Nursing Practice (Spring 2017) 75 hours

Clinical experience consisted of Emergency department rotations at Memorial Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s
Hospital, and St. Francis Medical Center. IV placement and urinary catheter placement skills were practiced in these
locations, as well as lab draws for sepsis workups. I practiced blood administration and end of life care.
Observations included DaVita Dialysis and the Vascular Access Team at Memorial Regional.

Adult Nursing Science I Practicum (Spring 2017) 135 hours

Clinical hours were completed on the Cardio/Pulmonary Unit at Memorial Regional. Reflections, concept maps,
catheterization lab observations, and peer review were included in this clinical experience.

Adult Nursing Science II Practicum (Fall 2017) 135 hours

Clinical hours completed at St. Mary’s hospital on the General Surgery unit, Oncology unit, Neuroscience Unit, and
Adult Intensive Care unit. Additionally, I completed observations at VCU STICU and Bon Secours’ Hospice House.

Mental Health Practicum (Fall 2017) 90 hours

Clinical hours completed on the psychiatric units at St. Mary’s and Richmond Community, the Marshall Center,
Cumberland Children’s hospital, and the Lakeside Center. I also observed an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

Nursing Care of Children and Families Practicum (Spring 2018) 90 hours

Clinical hours completed on the pediatric unit of St. Mary’s, Children’s Hospital at Brook Road, and an observation
in the NICU at St. Mary’s.

Nursing Care of Women and Childbearing Families Practicum (Spring 2018) 90 hours
Clinical hours completed in the birthplace at Memorial Regional. These hours consisted of antepartum, intrapartum,
and postpartum care as well as an observation in the NICU.

Clinical Immersion (Fall 2018) 225 hours

To be completed by November 2018 in the St. Francis Medical Center Emergency Department.
