Tarot Spellcasting: A Tarot mage does not know or prepare any spells like a common mage or sorcerer
instead, they have a very specialized Tarot deck that allows them to channel their own arcane power
into the spells they want to cast. The Tarot deck contains the same cards as a High and Minor Arcana
except that each card has its own spell effect, after being cast, each spell card is removed from the deck
for the rest of the day. At the first level, all Major Arcana cards are first level spells while the minor
arcana contains all 0 level spells (+ a few bonus effects for the cards for those that don’t have an
equivalent 0 level spell). The spell level of each card is described in the following table:

Level M Arcana Cards M Arcana Spell Level m Arcana Cards M Arcana Spell Level

The DC’s for their spells is equal to 10 + Spell Level + Cha modifier

Arcane Favor: The Arcana favors those study it and boosts their power, however one must be careful
not get too greedy with what they ask of it as their favor may be quickly lost. These states (favor and
disfavor of the arcana) along with a neutral stage were the arcana just stopped showing its favor to the
tarot mage are described below.

~Favor of the Arcana: This stage last until the Tarot Mage draws as many cards from his deck as
his level. During this stage the Tarot Mage gains <insert spellcasting boost>. When casting a spell from
his deck.

~Neutral Arcana: This stage lasts as long as the previous one. The only difference is that during
this stage the Tarot Mage gains no spellcasting benefit.

~Disfavored by the Arcana: This stage lasts until the last card has been drawn from the deck. The
Tarot mage during this stage grown progressively less powerful as the Arcana does not wish to help
them channel their powers properly. For every two cards they draw in this stage, their spell caster level
decreases by one. If this reduces the Tarot Mage’s caster level to 0 they can no longer cast spells from
their deck until they regain their favor with the arcana (which happens during a 10-minute preparation
time each morning after a full rest)

~Empty Deck: If somehow the Tarot Mage manages to cast all spells from their deck it becomes
unusable for the day.

Luck Boost: Arcana’s favor also increases the Tarot Mage’s luck, giving them a bonus on any one tpye of
skill check, attack roll or save (chosen at the start of the day). This bonus is equal to the Tarot Mage’s
Cha modifier.

“”””Arcane Familiar: At level 10 the Tarot Mage gains a Will-o’-Wisp an arcane familiar. This familiar can
be summoned like a Sorcerer’s familiar and has the same cost as one but does not gain any of the
familiar’s other abilities or stats. Master and familiar can communicate telepathically.””” – subject to
change or removal
