I started my career with ​RADIO ONE​ in Sales and worked there for two years. Then, I
worked as Manager in​ PRATIDIN​ for 2.5 years, followed by a stint in FOCUS BANGLA for 2
years.
Then I got a promotion and I moved to Zeal News as Senior Manager and worked there for
2 years. Post that, I worked in Radio Misti as Sales Head – East for 3 years, then in
SADHNA BANGLA as Sr. Manager in Ad Sales & Marketing for 2.5 years.
Currently, I am working as AGM-Sales in TV channels in KOLKATA TV.

Please describe your current Job Responsibilities.


My current job responsibilities include Air Time selling for the channel, i also take all major
decision regarding Ad sales and marketing for the channel. Apart from this I have to do AD
sales and Marketing for the national client, corporate, semi-corporate as well as retail
clients, Doing all major Events for the channel, I also take care about the Co-ordination
between scheduling & ad Sales Team, etc.
I have spent over 18 years in this profession of Sales in TV Channels.

Sales in TV Channels is one of the best jobs for people who are energized by other people,
who enjoy a variety of tasks and are good at multitasking.
You get a good amount of salary too.
One can be creative here and you can gain new experiences too.
You would get very helpful coworkers here and your office environment would be good too.
You will gain a lot of patience while working in this job and that will help you to solve your
personal problems too.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to
be aware of when considering a career in your Profession?
There are a few negatives in this job like you have to work very hard. There will be days
when you have to work more than 9 hours a day. You have to work 6 days a week.
This job is very much Sales target oriented and you have to handle a lot of pressure for that
reason.
People often end up having an aggressive attitude in this job. You should be very patient for
that reason. If you can’t reach your Sales target, you will get warnings and also you won’t
get incentives then.
