Great idea!
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...30#post4014530
Hi everybody,
I would like to make a suggestion to have another thread running alongside this one. A plac e
where people can discuss their strategies, show their trades, and other random c ontributions,
etc. The purpose of the new thread will be to keep this one from getting too diluted and to leave
it for Graeme to continue with his lessons. This thread is starting to get too big and I fear that
Graeme's lessons would get "lost" in the midst of all the different postings from so many people. I
do find value from all the contributions by other people but I think it would be for the benefit of
all if we start another thread for discussions and other random contributions.
I wonder if Graeme would agree to it? What do you guys/gals think?
Bak

You really only need the last two links for everything. Note that the file Up to page 102 is about
20 megs in size whereas the last file is only 3 megs in size.
Onc e again, don't mess up the thread flow by commenting on this post. if there is an issue then
just PM me. I most likely won't get to it until Monday.

Hi to the group,
It's taken me a while but I have now completed reading the whole of this thread. Many thanks to
Graeme for the time and effort in preparing the charts and explaining his method. I particularly like
the way that the details were gradually revealed bit by bit. A lot of the ideas presented here
have changed the way I now look at the markets.
The modifications that Joe/Marion uses appeal to me as I trade by spread betting in the UK and
my broker won't allow any kind of hedging. The idea of just using trades in one direction on a
partic ular pair is ideal for me. I'm just at the stage of trying to get my head around the details of
Joe/Marion's entry and exit strategy.
So far its been a very interesting read and I hope to have a go with this strategy very soon.

I would like that a lot Ari. I have already begun working on a trading plan foc ussed prec isely on
Marion's strategy and feel more c omfortable since the last stacking episode yesterday. We could
collaborate offline (via PM) to avoid distraction to this thread. My intention with these series of
questions were to completely understand where subjectivity/discretion comes into play and
thanks to Graeme, now I have a much much better idea.

Hey Vee,
Graeme is doing this out of the kindness of his heart, it's not like he has an obligation...
I would ask that you respect that... also c onsider the volume of questions he must be receiving, I
think he said about 30 people partic ipating at that two weeks exercise, if eac h of them has 7
questions, I hope you can see the workload.
Kindest Regards,
Cam

Hi,
Just want to encourage everyone. I played with dice 100 times and it's very interesting that you
will always be in profit. I do it as mental exercise to see a bigger picture of what we are learning
here.
Now the only thing I need to do is to improve my small stoplosses.

i agree with you dave we should not let our egor prevail... or else the market will show us
humility and kindness
regards,
p.s. if one think they already know a lot and ready to conquer the world, please give yourself a
break... as graeme said we need lots and lots of participation to become better and profitable.

Its hard to imagine how someone as successful as Graeme could be bothered starting this
thread... let alone setting out massive posts with illustrations and answering every question in
detail.
Unreal.

aww, I was (kinda) kidding. I'm competitive by nature. Seeing live results like that pushes me to
get rid of my 2-30-100 pip mentality.
I think others seeing that it CAN BE DONE and it is REALLY being done by other traders would
encourage them. i see some getting discouraged. I know it can be done, when I first read this
thread I was roc king along and holding trades longer than ever before. Seeing those trades for
only two days is enough to make me sick enough to want to change my swing trading mentality -
and get rid of it for good. When alot of people start really getting this and are posting trades
they've held for WEEKS, MONTHS - I think it would push us all to quit putting our stops at +20 or
trail stops at +50.

Not to be joy kill...but do you think having a contest to out do each other is really what this
thread is about??? I just think doing something like that would be distracting to one's trading and
to the thread itself.
Again...just my opinion.

will do but first, i want to experience an engulfing green candle to close all my positions. I am also
working on my next round of questions for Greame based on my H4 FB exerc ise on gbp/c ad. It's

Agreed. Forget automation until you have been trading it for a good while and made good c oin
with it. There are prob a few important nuances to pic k up that will make a big difference to your
bottom line, and you wont figure those out activating a simple EA every time you see a Flying
Buddha...

For now, I personally want to leverage Graeme's effort to focus on (1) getting this 100%
baked on paper and in my head first (2) Practic e and prove to myself that this viable
strategy fits my personality and that...

I think it's good for those holding to show your numbers on your ac count - makes the

Graeme so eloquently described the '5-move lookahead in chess' example. I am now able to make
that connection with the market. I hope my winning streak continues and not just a luc ky day. I
was a 'bracket trader' before I ran into this thread. not any more !!!

nah, he says to find your "main thing" that works, FB is just one of the ways that he trades and
the only way "Joe"/Marion trades. The FB is only 40-60% successful. I've found the mva's (for
me) are about 98% accurate.
Graeme also uses 000 entries, penant breakouts, opening of daily candle, etc... Whatever works
for you to get in - use that and practice HOLDING for 24 pips at first, then longer as you see the
potential in holding for days/weeks/months.
My hindsight for the week on GBP/USD is down - so I was showing you my "main thing" for down
entries for the night on the 5 minute chart, hoping it might help those that are having problems
with serious draw downs.

Midknight - "The market well reward me eventually, but if trading is ones only source of income -
"eventually" may be too far away for me to stay solvent. This is an aspect that any full-time
trader needs to realize and accept."
I 100% agree with you Midknight, and this is an issue that seems to be brought up by many
people and will c asue them issues when struggling to run positions. The inevitable unrealised PL
drawdowns will invariably cause them to panic, sell out positions too early and hence c reate bad
habits that are not conducive to this type of trading, which is more suited to building a longer
term type pool of money. A friend who has traded for a long time sees this issue as one of its
greatest hurdles.
Easy answer for me is if you can do it mentally - split the trading capital and trade both.

(also I am slightly c onfused at all the crash scenarios for FX.... are you trading USDEUR or
EURUSD? and can some one name a major currency that has gapped one way 10-25% like the
share market has overnight?)
Here ia another pair to watch. If today ends as an FB this would be a pair to watch next week.
Been in a nice up channel for awhile and it's coming up on a strong resistance level.
