Hi everybody,

I would like to make a suggestion to have another thread running alongside this one. A plac e
where people can discuss their strategies, show their trades, and other random c ontributions,
etc. The purpose of the new thread will be to keep this one from getting too diluted and to leave
it for Graeme to continue with his lessons. This thread is starting to get too big and I fear that
Graeme's lessons would get "lost" in the midst of all the different postings from so many people. I
do find value from all the contributions by other people but I think it would be for the benefit of
all if we start another thread for discussions and other random contributions.
I wonder if Graeme would agree to it? What do you guys/gals think?

You really only need the last two links for everything. Note that the file Up to page 102 is about

Onc e again, don't mess up the thread flow by commenting on this post. if there is an issue then
just PM me. I most likely won't get to it until Monday.

Hi to the group,

It's taken me a while but I have now completed reading the whole of this thread. Many thanks to
Graeme for the time and effort in preparing the charts and explaining his method. I particularly like
the way that the details were gradually revealed bit by bit. A lot of the ideas presented here
have changed the way I now look at the markets.

The modifications that Joe/Marion uses appeal to me as I trade by spread betting in the UK and
my broker won't allow any kind of hedging. The idea of just using trades in one direction on a
partic ular pair is ideal for me. I'm just at the stage of trying to get my head around the details of
Joe/Marion's entry and exit strategy.

So far its been a very interesting read and I hope to have a go with this strategy very soon.

I would like that a lot Ari. I have already begun working on a trading plan foc ussed prec isely on
Marion's strategy and feel more c omfortable since the last stacking episode yesterday. We could
collaborate offline (via PM) to avoid distraction to this thread. My intention with these series of
questions were to completely understand where subjectivity/discretion comes into play and
thanks to Graeme, now I have a much much better idea.

Hi,

Just want to encourage everyone. I played with dice 100 times and it's very interesting that you
will always be in profit. I do it as mental exercise to see a bigger picture of what we are learning
here.
Now the only thing I need to do is to improve my small stoplosses.

aww, I was (kinda) kidding. I'm competitive by nature. Seeing live results like that pushes me to
get rid of my 2-30-100 pip mentality.

I think others seeing that it CAN BE DONE and it is REALLY being done by other traders would
encourage them. i see some getting discouraged. I know it can be done, when I first read this
thread I was roc king along and holding trades longer than ever before. Seeing those trades for
only two days is enough to make me sick enough to want to change my swing trading mentality -
and get rid of it for good. When alot of people start really getting this and are posting trades
they've held for WEEKS, MONTHS - I think it would push us all to quit putting our stops at +20 or
trail stops at +50.

just my $.02 ....

Agreed. Forget automation until you have been trading it for a good while and made good c oin
with it. There are prob a few important nuances to pic k up that will make a big difference to your
bottom line, and you wont figure those out activating a simple EA every time you see a Flying

nah, he says to find your "main thing" that works, FB is just one of the ways that he trades and
the only way "Joe"/Marion trades. The FB is only 40-60% successful. I've found the mva's (for
me) are about 98% accurate.

Graeme also uses 000 entries, penant breakouts, opening of daily candle, etc... Whatever works
for you to get in - use that and practice HOLDING for 24 pips at first, then longer as you see the
potential in holding for days/weeks/months.

My hindsight for the week on GBP/USD is down - so I was showing you my "main thing" for down
entries for the night on the 5 minute chart, hoping it might help those that are having problems
with serious draw downs.

GBPUSD Breakout

Here is a trade I just entered. Nice breakout to the down side. Let's see if it carries into the
London session or is it just a head fake???

Short lived breakout...out at BE. Big time head fake.

Midknight - "The market well reward me eventually, but if trading is ones only source of income -
"eventually" may be too far away for me to stay solvent. This is an aspect that any full-time
trader needs to realize and accept."

I 100% agree with you Midknight, and this is an issue that seems to be brought up by many
people and will c asue them issues when struggling to run positions. The inevitable unrealised PL
drawdowns will invariably cause them to panic, sell out positions too early and hence c reate bad
habits that are not conducive to this type of trading, which is more suited to building a longer
term type pool of money. A friend who has traded for a long time sees this issue as one of its
greatest hurdles.

Easy answer for me is if you can do it mentally - split the trading capital and trade both.
