Report from Steering Committee of the 2nd of ICIMECE 2016

On behalf Organizing, Steering, and Technical Program Committee, it is my privilege to


welcome you to the Joint International Conference of The Second Industrial, Mechanical,
Electrical, and Chemical Engineering & Annual Conference on Industrial and System
Engineering (ICIMECE & ACISE 2016).

The first International Conference of Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical


Engineering (ICIMECE) was held being held in Surakarta from November 4-5, 2015. In the
1st ICIMECE, we joint with International Conference on Electric Vehicular Technology (ICEVT)
that organized by the School of Electrical and Informatics, Institute Technology Bandung
(ITB), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) supported by Indonesia
Electric Vehicle Consortium (ITB, UNS, UI, UGM and ITS) which is coordinated by Directorate
General of Research Reinforcement and Development, Ministry Research and Technology &
Higher Education and LPDP (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education). The focus of the
conference is to establish an effective platform for the three axis (triple helix namely
academician, business, and government (ABG) forum with the theme “Commercialization of
Technology from Universities and R&D Center”. About 87 papers was accepted and
presented by scientists, engineers, educators and students. Conference Proceeding of
ICIMECE was indexed in IEEE Explore (SCOPUS Indexed).

This year, we joined ICIMECE with Annual Conference on Industrial and System Engineering
(ACISE) to be broad, widely provide opportunities for the different areas to exchange new
ideas and also experiences, as well as to establish business or research relations and to find
global partnership for future collaboration in the fields of Engineering with theme
“Commercialization of Renewable Energy” as part of “Creating Innovative Culture In
Engineering Disclipines”. The ICIMECE & ACISE 2016 organized by Faculty of Engineering -
Sebelas Maret University in collaboration with Faculty of Engineering - Diponegoro
University, and the School of Electrical and Informatics, Institute Technology Bandung (ITB),
and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) with technical co-sponsored
by the Indonesia Section C-Chapter and Indonesia Section SP/ED/E/PES Joint Chapter.

Authors from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, the Republic of the
Philippines, the United Kingdom, The People's Republic of China and Turkey were
submitted articles to this conference. We received more than 150 papers submission, and
most papers were reviewed by two reviewers. Based on the reviewers’ recommendation we
have decided to accept 110 papers for publication in the conference proceedings (ICIMECE
& ACISE 2016). Therefore we thanks all the participating parties which have made the
conference happening. To name them, I personally and also on behalf of the Steering
Organizing committee would like to extend our sincere thanks to:

We also would like to take this chance to thank our program committee and reviewers for
their hard work in providing insightful reviews. We are also grateful to our international
advisory committee for their guidance. Special thanks go to all the local organizing
committee members for their tremendous organizational services. Without their great
work, this wonderful event would not be a reality.

We hope that all of you will have a fruitful conference, enjoyable and unforgettable time
in Jogjakarta, Indonesia.
