Vs. Technoprenuer. Benefits & limitations of Entrepreneurship. Social Entrepreneurship and
Entrepreneurial Culture. [10 Hours]

2. Entrepreneurship Competencies and Motivation:


Definition of Competencies- Common characteristics associated with achievement oriented
entrepreneurs McClelland and McBer (1985). Competencies required for women
entrepreneur. David McClelland Model of motivation; three needs. Self-assessment skills and
business skill inventory. [10 Hours]

3. Business Plan:
Executive summary. Business Planning Process, Environmental Analysis - Search and
Scanning, Identifying problems and opportunities, Defining Business Idea, Basic
Government Procedures to be complied. Detail Project report and Management-contains;
Feasibility Study, Technical, Financial, Marketing, Personnel and Management. Estimating

Understanding a Market, Competitive Analysis of the Market, Patents, Trademarks and
Copyright.

Schemes offered by various commercial banks and financial institutions like IDBI, ICICI,
SIDBI, SFCs. Venture Capital Funding. Role of Central Government and State Government
in promoting Entrepreneurship - Introduction to various incentives, subsidies and grants -
Export Oriented Units - Fiscal and Tax concessions available. Role of following agencies in
the Entrepreneurship Development - District Industries Centers (DIC), Small Industries
Service Institute (SISI), Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), National
Institute of Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD), National
Entrepreneurship Development Board (NEDB)
