INVERTED MICROSCOPE
INTRODUCTION
• Basically, in an upright microscope, you look down to see the image, and
with an inverted model, you look up.
• Inverter microscope can viewed is in suspension or is very large and
heavy.
• This type is commonly used in metallurgy, cell culture and for viewing
aquatic specimens.

NOMENCLATURE DESCRIPTIONS
Stage center plate To place the specimen on the center of the
stage.
Observation Tube When wearing eyeglasses
Use the eye shades in the normal, folded-down
position. To prevent the eyeglasses from being
scratched.
When not wearing eyeglasses
Extend the folded eye shades down to prevent
extraneous light from entering between the
eyepieces and eyes.
Light path selector lever To allows for light path switching between the
observation and camera port paths.

VIEW
View option To switch the observation magnification in the
following 3 levels according to the objective
lens magnification.
Coarse and fine adjustment knob Rotating the coarse or fine focus adjustment
knob toward the front (anticlockwise ) raises
the objective and toward the rear (clockwise)
lowers the objective.
Transmitted light Transmitting light source to objective.

X and Y axis knob To move the specimen to a desired position,


rotate the X-axis knob and Y-axis knob

• Changing Lens need to be made from left
side.
• Moving the lens until feel the ‘click’.
Camera port • Connection for camera port.
• Camera can be take off and install for stereo LEFT

• Pre focus lever The pre-focusing lever prevents collision VIEW
• Coarse and fine adjustment knob between the specimen and lens and simplifies
the focusing operation.
Step to Observe The Specimen

Procedure To Capture Image Using Software
analySIS getIT- Step By Step

1. Double click on icon analySIS getIT


2. Click on icon (a) and the DigiAcquis TWAIN window would appear.

3. Click on icon (b) to capture the image.

4. Click on icon (c) to set the correct scale bar / magnification for the
image.
5. To burn the scale on the image, click on “Image”, then “Scale Bar” then
“Burn into Image”.

6. Click on icon (d) to save the image to the desired folder.

Note: It is compulsory to save the file as type Tagged Image Format “tif”
for the images which require measurement in the future.
measureIT – Step By Step

1. Close the analySIS getIT application.


2. Double click on icon measureIT.
3. Click on icon (e) to apply the scale bar. The scale bar will be
accurate if the image was saved as “tif” file.
4. Click on icon (f) to do measurement.
5. Click on icon (g) for some annotation on the image.
