AKUPUNTUR SEBAGAI SOLUSI ALTERNATIF MENINGKATKAN SENSITIVITAS

MEKANORESEPTOR DI PUNGGUNG LANSIA

Pengobatan alternatif untuk menyembuhkan penyakit-penyakit berbahaya seperti kanker, stoke

atau penyakit degeneratif syaraf telah menjadi tren di kalangan masyarakat, khususnya di kalangan
lansia. Salah satu metode yang kerap digunakan sebagai solusi alternatif adalah akupuntur.
Akupuntur atau dalam dunia kedokteran disebut Analgesia Akupuntur (AA) adalah teknik
pengobatan tradisional cina yang menggunakan jarum sebagai media utama. Jarum ditusukkan
pada titik-titik akupuntur yang ada dalam tubuh manusia untuk merangsang pengeluaran senyawa
analgesic yang menyebabkan rasa rileks dan meningkatkan kesehatan tubuh. Penggunaan jarum
akupuntur juga bermanfaat dalam peningkatan sensitivitas dari mekanoresptor pada titik-titik
akupuntur. Mekanoreseptor adalah reseptor sensoris dasar yang peka terhadap rangsangan gaya
mekanis, seperti tekanan atau regangan pada permukaan kulit. Sama halnya dengan reseptor lain,
kepekaan atau sensitivitas mekanoreseptor akan mengalami penurunan seiring dengan
pertambahan usia. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan pada lansia sering terjadi gangguan terkait
dengan kepekaan reseptor terhadap suatu stimulus dan dikaitkan dengan rasa nyeri terutama di
daerah punggung. AA selain berperan dalam meredam rasa nyeri juga berpengaruh pada
sensitivitas mekanoreseptor. Dengan pemberian perlakuan AA para lansia akan memiliki
mekanoreseptor yang lebih peka akan berdampak pula pada kesehatan para lansia yang memang
mengalami penurunan kepekaan pada mekanoreseptornya

ANALGESIA ACUPUNCTURE AS AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION FOR INCREASING

THE SENSITIVITY OF MECHANORECEPTORS IN BACK ELDERLY

Alternative medication for recurring dangerous diseases such as cancer, stroke or neuro-
degenerative syndrome right now becoming a trend in community, especially for the elderly. One
among them that are very often to be used as an alternative solution is acupuncture. Acupuncture
or in western medical term called by Analgesia Acupuncture (AA) is a traditional Chinese
medicine which use needle as the main equipment. This method us needle, and those needle were
pinned in the acupuncture point along the body the stimulate the releasing of analgesic compound
that make the body relax, reducing pain and of course make the body feel more healthy. The use
of acupuncture needle also affected receptors -especially mechanoreceptors- which increase the
sensitivity of the receptors that are located in the acupuncture points. Mechanoreceptor are one of
the main sensory receptor which is sensitive with mechanic force such as stress or strain in the
skin surfaces. As same as another receptors, the sensitivity of mechanoreceptor will decreasing
analogous with the increasing of the age. This thing was the main factor which is make the elderly
often suffered with an abnormality in the sensitivity of the mechanoreceptors for a stimulus and it
is connected with the back pain. Not only reducing the pain, AA also affect the mechanoreceptors
sensitivity. With AA the elderly will have the more sensitive mechanoreceptors that are also impact
the elderly healthiness that actually had a decreasing in the mechanoreceptors sensitivity.
