Objective

Objective

This specification is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Housing and Urban and rural construction for the
issuance of the notice on the formulation and revision of engineering construction standards in 2009 (2009]88), which was
completed by the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design.
In the process of compiling, the compiling group has carried out extensive and thorough investigation, summed up the
practical experience of the barrier-free construction in different areas in China in recent years, studied and analyzed the present
situation and development of the construction without obstacles, consulted the relevant international standards and advanced
technology abroad, and, on the basis of widely soliciting the opinions of the relevant units nationwide, Through repeated
discussion, revision and refinement, final review finalized.
This specification is divided into 9 chapters and 3 appendices, the main technical contents are: General, terminology,
design requirements of barrier-free facilities, urban roads, city squares, urban green space, residential areas, residential
buildings, public buildings and historical relics protection building barrier-free construction and transformation.
The provisions in this code which are marked in bold are mandatory and must be strictly enforced.
This specification is administered by the Ministry of Housing and Urban and rural construction and explains the mandatory
provisions, and the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design is responsible for the specific technical content.
This specification in the implementation process, please all units to pay attention to experience, accumulation of
information, such as the discovery needs to be modified and supplemented, please feedback the relevant comments and
suggestions to the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (address: No. 62nd, Lishi, Xicheng District, Beijing, China, zip Code:
100045) for future revisions.

▲ Collection of provisions
3.3.1 1th Flat slope out of the entrance, is the most convenient for people in the passage of the barrier-free entrance, the
entrance not only facilitates a variety of mobility inconvenience of the crowd, but also to other people to bring convenience,
should be in the project, especially in large public buildings preferred choice. The 3rd paragraph mainly applies to the following
situations: in the construction of access to the barrier-free renovation, because the site conditions are limited and unable to
build ramps, you can use a small footprint lift platform to replace wheelchair ramps. General new buildings do not advocate
such practices.
3.3.2 Accessibility should comply with the following provisions:
1 The ground should be smooth and non-slip;
2 The hole width of outdoor ground water filter operator should not be greater than 15mm;
3 At the same time, the entrance and exit of the stair and lifting platform shall be applied only to the works which cannot be
modified by site restriction, and shall conform to the relevant provisions of 3rd 7.3 of this code.

3.4 Wheelchair Ramps

3.4 Wheelchair Ramps

3.4.1 Wheelchair ramps should be designed in straight, right-angled or foldback form.

▲ Collection of provisions
3.4.1 Ramp Form Design, should be based on the surrounding situation comprehensive consideration, in order to avoid
wheelchair people on the slope of the center of gravity to tilt the risk of fall, the ramp should not be designed to be round or
curved.
the net width of the 3.4.2 wheelchair ramp should not be less than 1.00m, and the net width of wheelchair ramps for barrier-free
entrances should not be less than 1.20m. Click to ▲ Collection of provisions

3.4.2 Ramp width should first meet evacuation requirements, when the width of the ramp is not less than 1. When OOm, can
guarantee a wheelchair passage, the width of the ramp is not less than 1.20m, can guarantee a wheelchair and a person on the
side of the road, the ramp width of not less than 1.50m, can ensure that a wheelchair and a person positive relative passage,
the ramp width of not less than 1.80m, can ensure that the two wheelchair front of the opposite.
3.4.3 The height of the wheelchair ramp exceeds 300mm and the slope is greater than 1:20, the handrail should be set on both
sides, and the handrail of the ramp and rest platform shall be consistent, and the handrail shall conform to the relevant
provisions of section 3.8 of this specification.
▲ Collection of provisions
3.4.3 when the height of the wheelchair ramp is 300mm or less, or when the slope is less than or equal to 1:20, the wheelchair
and other persons with disabilities can basically not use the handrail; but when the height exceeds 300mm and the slope is
greater than 1:20, it is safer to take the handrail on the action. So this situation requires handrails on both sides of the ramp.
The maximum height and horizontal length of the 3.4.4 wheelchair ramp shall conform to table 3.4.4.

▲ Collection of provisions
The slope of the 3.4.4 wheelchair ramp can be selected in accordance with the maximum height of the ramp, and a relatively
steep slope can be chosen, but not less than 1:8, when the height of the ramps is less than 300mm. Ramps can also be set up
in the height of the total ramp lift, but a rest platform should be set in the middle, and the relationship between elevation and
slope of each ramp can be performed according to table 3.4.4. It is safer and more comfortable to make the ramp less than
1:12 of the slope when conditions are in place.
The slope of the 3.4.5 wheelchair ramp should be flat, non-slip and non-reflective.
▲ Collection of provisions
3.4.5 This article requires that the slope of the ramp level, anti-skid is for wheelchair travel smooth, on the slope should not add
protection slider or the slope to make 礓 cuo form, because the wheelchair driving on this slope will feel poor driving.

▲ Collection of provisions
The barrier-free design of a door in a 3.5.3 building includes its form, specification, opening width design, which needs to be
considered for its ease of use and safety. In wheelchairs, the net width of the wheelchair is 750mm, and the width of some
models of electric wheelchairs is increasing, so the net width of the doors is 900mm.
in order to open the door in the wheelchair close to the doors, the wall on the side of the doorknob should be left with a width of
not less than 400mm, so that the wheelchair can be close to the door handle.
sliding door, the handle should choose a cross-grip knob or U-shaped handle, if the use of circular rotating handle, will give the
disabled person of the hand obstacles. The door panel is installed underneath the doors to prevent the wheel from breaking.
It is recommended to use the door of automatic opening and closing through the button, and the space size requirement of the
door and the periphery shall satisfy this article. The button height is 0.90m ~ 1.10m.
