Indonesia has been known for its landscapes and beautiful scenery. In some
areas there are also fortresses and palaces that have long been built and has now
changed the function of becoming a tourist attraction. But did you know that one of
these remains is the largest castle in the world? The fort is located on an island to the
east of Indonesia is the island of Buton.

This buton fort is the largest castle in the world and recorded in the Guinness
Book of Records in 2006. This fort has an area of 23,375 hectares in the city of Bau-
bau. This fort has a unique shape and made of a mixture of limestone, stone, and sand.
The outer walls of this fort have a height of 2.7 meters. Buton Palace has 12 gates
with cannon protection in each gate. According to the local community, the number of
12 gates is the number of holes in the human body.

In the center of this Buton fortress there is a mosque that has a flagpole 33
meters tall. This flagpole has survived there for 400 years, the same as the age of the
kingdom of Buton. This sturdy and spacious stone wall has protected the pole along
with the Buton kingdom until it still exists today.

dibangun dan kini telah berubah fungsi
menjadi daya tarik wisata. Tetapi apakah Anda tahu bahwa salah satu dari sisa-sisa ini
adalah benteng terbesar di dunia? Benteng yang terletak di sebuah pulau di sebelah
timur Indonesia adalah Pulau Buton.

Benteng buton ini adalah benteng terbesar di dunia dan tercatat dalam Guiness
Book of Records pada tahun 2006. Benteng ini memiliki luas 23.375 hektar di kota
Bau-bau. Benteng ini memiliki bentuk yang unik dan terbuat dari campuran batu
kapur, batu, dan pasir. Dinding luar benteng ini memiliki ketinggian 2,7 meter. Istana
Buton memiliki 12 gerbang dengan perlindungan meriam di setiap gerbang. Menurut
masyarakat setempat, jumlah 12 gerbang adalah jumlah lubang di tubuh manusia.

Di pusat benteng Buton ini ada sebuah masjid yang memiliki tiang bendera
setinggi 33 meter. Tiang bendera ini telah bertahan hidup di sana selama 400 tahun,
sama seperti usia kerajaan Buton. Dinding batu yang kokoh dan luas ini telah
melindungi tiang itu bersama dengan kerajaan Buton hingga masih ada hingga
sekarang.
