RE: Pavement Restoration work on Bryant Street, NW between 2nd Street and 1st Street

September 10, 2018

Dear Resident:

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will conduct a Roadway Resurfacing Project along Bryant Street, NW
between 2nd Street and 1st Street on or about Wednesday September 19, 2018.

This work will be performed in two phases for asphalt and concrete construction. The total time for construction is
estimated to take 10 days with the possibility of a delay between concrete and asphalt construction.

Roadway resurfacing projects may include the construction of roadway subgrade, concrete curb & gutter, concrete
driveway aprons, brick sidewalk, concrete sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, roadway striping, removal of asphalt, asphalt
paving, crosswalks striping and bike lane striping.

If unforeseen issues such as inclement weather do not permit our contractor to begin work on the date scheduled a new
start date for construction will be posted on the No Parking Signs located on the poles and trees throughout the
construction project site.

Curbside parking will be restricted at this location from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. “NO PARKING” signs will be posted
seventy-two (72) hours prior to the commencement of construction in your area. All residents in this area will
receive a copy of this letter alerting them to this work. All work will be conducted from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday
through Saturday.

Throughout construction access to surrounding homes and businesses will be maintained. District Traffic Control
Standards might require the partial closure or complete closure to all traffic on the block where work is taking place. If the
block is closed to traffic, residents may access their homes by coming up to the cones at the closure and requesting
access to the traffic control flag person.

DDOT is unable to remove and reinstall any ornamental fence or wood timbers in the tree space area. Residents are
asked to remove these items before construction begins as DDOT will not be responsible for any damage that might occur
during construction.

DDOT thanks you in advance for your patience and understanding during the construction. If you have any questions or
concerns about this project, please contact DDOT Call Center at (202) 671-2700, by email at ddot@dc.gov, or be on the
lookout for the inspector on site.

Sincerely,
AA
