On oraboutAugust13,2018,intheW esternDistrictofVirginiaandelsewhere,SHADE

CARLTON W ORKM AN,in a matter within the jtlrisdiction ofthe executive branch ofthe
Governmentofthe United States,knowingly and willfully m ade m aterially false,fictitious,and

fraudulentstatementsand representations.

On oraboutAugust13,2018,SHADE CARI,TON W ORKM AN was interviewed by

Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding allegations of civil rights

violationsandwhetherornothehad(1)engagedin sexualactivitywith aconfidentialinformant

whileemployedasaSpecialAgentwith theVirginiaStatePolice,and (2)directedaconfidential
informantto destroy evidence ofan illicitsexualrelationship between him and the confdential

inform ant. SHADE CARLTON W ORKM AN denied thathehad engaged in thealleged activity.

Atthetim e ofthe interview,SHA DE CARLTON W ORKM AN knew thatin facthe

had(1)engagedinsexualactivitywithaconfidentialinformantwhileemployedasaSpecialAgent
withtheVirginiaStatePolice,and (2)directedaconfidentialinformantto destroyevidenceofan
illicitsexualrelationship between him and theconfidentialinformant.
