Scene 1
Narrator: Edward and Kelly, a married couple with a son named Joshua, are living with
Edward’s parents. Edward has always been a mama’s boy but his father, Richard, was
the controlling and coercive in the family. Even if Edward is the one who is currently
running the family business, Richard still monitors his son’s performance. One day,
Richard heard about Edward’s failed business transaction. Just when Edward got home,
Richard confronted him.
Richard: Ano ba ‘yan, Edward! You really don’t know how to handle our business properly
‘noh?! All I’m asking from you is to be like me. Napaka-simpleng bagay, ‘di mo magawa?!
What kind of person are you? I sent you to a good university para mapatakbo mo ng
maayos yung business, just like how I did it before!!
Edward: But dad, it’s impossible naman not no commit mistakes…
Richard: Just.. Shut up and do your job properly, okay? No if’s, and definitely no but’s. I
don’t want to hear the same thing happening again. (screams) If only I had another son
who can manage the business well. Hay naku! (murmurs)
*Richard walks out, leaving Edward
*Edward sees his mother, ignores her and goes straight to his room
Scene 2
In his room…
Kelly: Hey, sweetheart! How was your day? Did you have dinner na?
*Edward does not respond
Kelly: What’s bothering you? Okay ka lang ba?
Edward: CAN YOU JUST MIND YOU OWN BUSINESS? Gusto ko muna makapagisip
ng mag-isa, okay? So please, stop speaking.
Kelly: (still confused) Sweetheart? Let me hear you out para I can help you with whatever
your problem is.
Edward: Bingi ka ba? Didn’t you hear what I just said? Shut your mouth muna!!
Joshua: (witnesses everything) Uhm, mom, dad? Are you guys fighting again? What’s
wrong?
Edward: Isa ka pa, Joshua! Mag-aral ka na lang. Don’t mind us. Kayong dalawa, mag-
nanay talaga kayo, puro kayo salita napaka-ingay. I just need silence right now, can’t you
guys understand?!
*Room suddenly becomes quiet. Kelly goes to sleep, so does Joshua.
Edward: (in a loud voice) Hay, buhay!
Scene 3
Narrator: Because of the attitude that Edward has been showing towards Kelly and
Joshua, the two are starting to live their lives without him. One day, when Edward got
home..
Edward: (sees Kelly cooking) Hey, sweetheart! Ang bango naman n’yan, ano niluluto mo?
Kelly: (continues cooking as if she hears nothing)
Edward: Hey, did you hear what I just asked you??
Kelly: (still ignores Edward)
*Edward decides to go inside their room. Joshua was there doing his homework.
Edward: Hi Joshua, need help?
Joshua: (gets his things and goes outside the room)
Edward: Joshua, I’m still talking to you. Where are you going??
Joshua: (ignores)
Kelly: (enters the room to get her phone)
Edward: Alam mo ikaw may kasalanan kung bakit ganyan anak natin eh! Hindi marunong
rumespeto sa magulang.
Kelly: At ako pa talaga, ah?
Edward: So, ako na naman may kasalanan? Bakit, ako ba yung nandito palagi sa bahay?
Kelly: Ewan ko sa’yo! (walks out)
Edward: Hoy, ikaw Kelly! Ano bang problema mo, ha?
Kelly: (does not respond)
*Joshua hears everything, becomes depressed
Narrator: Since then, Kelly decided to ignore Edward because of his attitude. To avoid
her husband, she goes out with her friends to go shopping. Edward felt sad, realizing how
alone he was without his family. While going through Joshua’s things, he came across
his diary which contained his plan on committing suicide. Only then when Edward realizes
his mistakes.
Scene 4
Edward: (dials Kelly on his phone) Hello? Sweetheart, this is urgent. Where are you?
Please listen to me.
Kelly: (silent)
Edward: Can we talk? Maybe over dinner tonight? I’ll pick you up wherever you are right
now.
Kelly: I’ll be home in a while. This better be urgent talaga.
Narrator: Kelly comes home. Edward immediately talked things out with Kelly. He also
explained how he was just stressed out by his father and his job. He also told Kelly about
Joshua’s plan on committing suicide.
Edward: I’m…so…sorry (cries) I’ve been a very bad husband and father. I don’t know
how to make up for all the things that I’ve done. (still crying)
Kelly: Sweetheart (crying).. You should have just told me. Alam mo naman na I would
understand. Edi sana natulungan din kita..
*Joshua comes home, witnessing what just happened.
Edward: (goes to Edward) I’m really sorry, Joshua—for being such a bad father. (crying)
Joshua: Dad…(starts crying)
*Edward hugs Joshua. Kelly goes up to the two. (group hug!!)
