Skookum Investment Club

August 8, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 6:45 pm by President Treacy Duerfeldt.

Joe Kinerk was appointed as Parliamentarian.
Tony Ward was appointed Head Counter. 16 members and one guest were in attendance.

Gary Bankers was welcomed as a new member.

Minutes of the July meeting were approved.

Bob Lovely reported that bills are paid and that we have $19,911.28 in the bank. The Treasurer’s report was
accepted.

Portfolio Report. Paul Capra reported that the member value for the month is $14,106 (first month over
$14,000 for consideration of a distribution). There is $47,067 in cash in the Fidelity account (plus $30,352 in
QQQ).

Review of Stock Holdings: Several members reviewed their stocks and made recommendations.
Joe Kinerk related our limit sale of 50 shares of FACEBOOK at $210 which locked in a substantial gain and
avoided a subsequent loss.

Treacy provided a report from the Investment Context Group with a focus on China, stagflation, oil, techs and
the “trade war” / tariffs.

Presentations:
Jack Holl made a general presentation on Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) with a focus on a specific Artificial
Intelligence (AI) guided fund: AI Powered Equity ETF (AIEQ). The fund uses a proprietary quantitative
model (EquBot). Recommended we invest as an experiment to increase our knowledge of ETFs and AI.
Joe Kinerk followed up on last month’s presentation on Ecolab (ECL) (put on the watch list). He
recommended purchasing 50 shares @ market.
After discussion on the remaining 50 shares of FACEBOOK, Joe recommended a limit sell order @ $200 for
the shares we own and a limited buy order @ $175 for an additional 50 shares.
Joe followed up on last month’s presentation on Schneider National (SNDR) (put on watch list). He
recommended it remain on the watch list.

Action / Acquisitions. Members voted to:

 Buy 200 shares of AIEQ @ market.
 Place a Limit Sell order on 50 shares of Facebook (FB) @ $200.
 Place a Limit Buy order on 50 shares of Facebook (FB) @ $175
 Buy 50 shares of ECL @ market
 Maintain the Stop Loss on Adobe (ADBE) at $210.

Watch List. Remove BUD. Garrett requested we add Dow DuPont (DWDP) and Applied Materials (AMAT).

5% Rule. Chair, Bob Lovely, will convene a meeting later this month.

Committee Reports.
Membership. We have 18 members. Need to recruit.

2019 Annual Meeting. Lake Chelan is being looked at.

President Treacy adjourned the meeting at 8:15 pm.
