BACKGROUND
Eastern Biotech and Life Sciences is a Medical Diagnostic Services company based in Dubai Science Park. The company
has been in operation for over 10 years and has been at the forefront of Diagnostic healthcare in the region. The company
was established to bring a paradigm shift in the diagnostic industry in the MENA region through adoption of innovative
technologies and exceptional customer service.

Eastern Biotech and Life Sciences started with a goal of providing predictive and personalised healthcare, the company filled the
niche in the highly specialized diagnostic and emerging genetic testing market. Upon achieving a leading market position and
regional brand recognition, the company incorporated routine diagnostic testing to its portfolio by setting up its own diagnostic
laboratory in Barsha, Dubai and developed a web portal offering all diagnostic tests on B2B and B2C platforms.

The combined Eastern Group of Companies that includes Eastern Biotech and Eastern Clinical Laboratories now offers its services
through various channels which include partner laboratories, clinics, hospitals independent doctors, and a ‘Direct-to-Customer’
web portal. The experience gained so far has also allowed us to enhance our services to include Quality and Accreditation support
for existing laboratories and Project Management for the setting up and commissioning of new laboratories.

2500 years later, we are living through changes at a pace that is unprecedented in the history of mankind. In the last two
decades the phenomenal advances in the fields of Information Technology and Biotechnology have fueled a revolution
in the field of healthcare that is leading us into a whole new dimension. It’s a dimension where “preventive, predictive,
personalised healthcare” will be a reality.

Eastern Biotech launched itself with that vision of preventive predictive personalised healthcare in 2005, and 10 years
later I feel we have arrived at the realization of that vision. Today, individuals are seeking to take control of their health,
and they are seeking tools to be able to do so. Eastern has positioned itself at the fore front to provide its customers the
opportunity to do so. Using cutting edge information technology tools such as the web portal and the web app and in

Dr. Amrish Kamboj
Chief Operating Officer and Laboratory Director
Dr. Amrish Kamboj has joined Eastern Clinical Laboratories in the position of
Chief Operating Officer and Laboratory Director. Dr. Amrish is a Senior Pathologist
with over 12 years of experience in the field and has a special interest in clinical
pathology, including predictive genetics, cancer genetics and functional
pathology. He has done his Graduation and Post-Graduation medical degrees
from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. In addition, he
has been a Laboratory Director, managing several laboratories during his career
in India, South America and United Arab Emirates. Most recently, he has been the
Group Director of Operations of Lifeline Health Care Group in Dubai.

Dr. Peter Cruse

Senior Strategic Adviser
Dr. Peter Cruse is an experienced medical doctor and former Chief Specialist
and Clinical Professor of Anatomical Pathology who was a Rhodes Scholar and
an MBA gold medallist. He has an extensive track record of running successful
hospital, clinic and laboratory projects, and of leading clinical business turn-
arounds in the GCC region. Dr Cruse has put together complex healthcare projects
with multiple stakeholders and many sites, including successful public-private
partnerships. He also has senior healthcare management consulting experience
at the government and corporate level in several GCC and other developing
countries. He is a consultant for the Eastern Group of Companies on Strategic
development & Investor relations.

Dr. Sanjida Ahmed

Director, Research
Dr. Sanjida Ahmed is the Research Director at Eastern Biotech & Life Sciences
since its inception in 2005, after completion of her PhD in Cell Biology from
Yokohama City University, Japan. Dr. Sanjida Ahmed earned her Bachelors’ and
Post-Graduation in Biochemistry with excellent academic records from Dhaka
University in Bangladesh. She is responsible for the Research & Development,
Quality Control and Overall Operations of the company.

Ranjini Mohan
Product Manager
Ranjini Mohan, has a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry with a Minor in Computer Science
from California State University, Hayward. Upon completion of the degree, she
worked for Applied Biosystems, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, in Pleasanton,
California for more than 8+ years. She also has a Master’s in Biotechnology (MBT)
from San Jose State University and later joined integenX, a start-up company in
Pleasanton, California, as a Process/QC Development Scientist for three years.
Ranjini joined Eastern Biotech & Life Sciences as a Product Specialist. Her main
expertise is in Technology Transfer & Integration

 Mr. David K. Isaac
International Management Consultant
Mr. David Isaac has more than 30 years of experience as a Senior Healthcare
Marketing Executive throughout Africa and the Middle East. He is also the owner
of Efadah Medical Consultancy, which specialises in healthcare performance
enhancement. David represents the Eastern Brand in the international area
especially in the MENA Region.

Randa Mourad
Customer Service Manager
Randa Mourad, joined Eastern Biotech in July 2010 as the Customer Service
Manager. She studied Business Administration in the Faculty of Commerce
and Business Administration, Helwan University, Egypt. She worked previously
in Emaar Dubai. Randa is leading the Customer Service Department to ensure
that Eastern Biotech is providing an excellent service to all its clients. She is the
corporate coordinator especially for the Arabic media and press and also, the
direct point of contact of the Arabic speaking clientele.

Sheena Ajay
Quality Manager
Sheena Ajay , joined Eastern Biotech in 2013. She graduated in year 2008
specialising Medical Laboratory Technology from Mahatma Gandhi University,
India and counts more than 6 years experience in the field laboratory and specially
trained in Histopathology from a leading cancer centre, Amala Cancer Centre,
India. She is responsible for managing the laboratory, Quality Management and
handling all queries related to all tests and results.

Mohammed Riyaz
Manager, IT
Mohmmed Riyaz, joined Eastern Biotech in 2007. He completed PGDIA
after graduating from Dharwad University, Bangalore, India. He worked as a
Programmer for BDPS, a software company in Andhra Pradesh, India and moved
to Dubai in 2007. He has been heading the IT Department of Eastern Biotech
for the last 8 years and has a cumulative experience of 10 years in the field of
Information Technology.

01 GENETIC COUNSELING

Genetic tests are incomplete without appropriate advice and guidance. Genetic counselors need to frequently speak to the
clients about complex scientific and emotional issues. Counseling involves 1). confirming, diagnosing, or ruling out a genetic
condition, 2). options for management and communicating genetic risk for future generation, and 3). providing psychological
support. Our highly qualified genetic counselors offer pre and post test counseling either online, by telephone, or in person.

02 NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING
Nutritional consultation involves building a detailed picture of lifestyle, eating habits, medical history and any concerns one may
have about their health. Our nutritional consultant can work to form an eating plan that suits client’s needs, their lifestyle and
