Course Objective : Upon the completion of this course, the students are highly expected to
be able to use their written and spoken English skills in daily
conversation context and in accounting and finance terms.
Course Description : The coverage of this course will include practicing and understanding
the context of written and spoken expressions in daily conversation and
in technical terms related to accounting and finance.
The language functions consist of Greeting and introduction, Describing
jobs, numbers and simple calculation, describing object and its function,
describing process, describing places, describing people, requesting,
offering, asking for and giving opinion, asking and giving reasons, asking
for and giving direction, giving and following instruction and presenting
a certain topic in finance or accounting field.
Method of Teaching : This course will take the forms of lecturing, question and answer,
discussion, role play, project based learning and students practice or
presentation.
Assessment and : The course assessment will be subjective in nature as would be

However, more objective assessment will be conducted from mid- term
and final term examinations and group, pair and individual works.

: 1. Tardiness is only accepted when it is not more than 15 minutes from
the scheduled time.
2. If the lecturer comes late, then, he will text the contact person. If he
does not inform you, make up class will be set (if possible).
3. The students are expected to attend classes at least 85% of the
whole session.
4. Mobile phone must be turned into silent mode or turn it off
(recommended).
5. Using English during the course is strongly encouraged (i.e. chat
with your friends in a discussion).
6. Taking manual/digital dictionary is recommended.
7. Do not hesitate to ask questions and share your opinion.
8. Respect each other and be responsible learner.
9. Keep the class clean and tidy.
10. Allow to bring snack or drinks.
