I deal in my work with the phenomenology of being in-between environments,

analysing the duality by the re-configuration of the body (self and non-self) as it
responds to its environment as a critical tool of analysis.
I use different mediums to produce and exhibit my work, including performance art,
filmmaking, sound design, and tattooing.

Autonomous Quantum Clock
3D modeling
(2017)

Although quantum systems provide the most accurate measurements of time, the concept of
time in quantum theory remains elusive. […] various models of quantum systems designed to
measure time, i.e., quantum clocks, have been proposed […]. These models typically con-
sider a specific degree of freedom of a quantum system, prepared in a judiciously chosen
initial state, then subjected to a unitary evolution, and finally measured. The result is
interpreted as a time-interval measurement, whose precision can be related to the proper-
ties of the clock […]. However, the procedures of the state preparation and the measure-
ment are usually not discussed explicitly. These models thus allow one to measure a time
interval, e.g., for implementing a given unitary operation (by timing an interaction).
This functionality is analogous to a stop-watch, but it cannot be considered a complete
model of a quantum clock.
Indeed, a crucial feature of a clock (as opposed to a stopwatch) is to continuously provide
a time reference to an external observer. It is thus essential that any complete model of
a quantum clock explicitly specifies the process of information read-out. This leads us to
consider a clock as a bipartite system […].

(excerpt from Physical Review X 7, 031022; references removed)

“Our goal was to explore the fundamental limits on time measurement at the smallest possible scale. Therefore we Presented in talks by
developed the model of autonomous quantum clocks, as we want to have a complete and self-consistent model that
allows for fair bookkeeping. The clock that is illustrated here is such a autonomous quantum clock. It uses two Paul Erker at the 3rd International Conference for Young Quantum Information Scientists
thermal baths at different temperature in order to bring a system out of thermal equilibrium, a prerequisite (YQIS 2017 in Erlangen)
for any system to function as a clock. The resulting heat flow is used to produce a sequence of signals, which and
are then recorded by a register. As the flow of information between the two parts of the clock is asymmetric Ralph Silva at the 8th National Centre of Competence in Research ‘Quantum Science and Technology
the process is irreversible. Irreversibility is connected with the generation of entropy through the second law -General Meeting
of thermodynamics. This model allowed us to show that this inevitable production of entropy is related to the (NCCR QSIT 2018 in Arosa)
fundamental limits on the performance of such systems to measure the passage of time.”

(2016-2018)

My proposal for this work is to investigate the possibility of

an artistic and political occupation of the body, focusing on
co-authored projects and employing radical strategies to turn
the final pieces into a continuous motivation to act critically.

This project aims to use concepts of G l i t c h effect as a

met4for to represent queer people in our society (where we are
educated for a binary conception of gender, limitated to “0 or 1”),
and counteract the beauty of the body (self and non-self) with
the brutality of gender violence.

the tattoo symbolizes some different aspects:

the fig is from the ficus tree family and such was the
tree, under which is believed that Buddha was meditating
till he reached his state of enlightenment. For me it is a
sacred tree as I connect it with some sweet memories of my
mother and grandmother
besides the spiritual aspect, the fig has something very
sexual in it - its fruit embodies the female and the male
gentiles - as a closed fruit it looks like a testicular,
but if you open it, two juicy vaginas appear;”

text by Irina Gancheva

During the working process we decided that the logical addition to the tattoo
would be to add some menstrual blood in the fig fruit. This performance will
be recorded.

“ besides the final aesthetics, in our project was indeed

a deep exchange from the both parts. We had at least one
meeting per week, usually two, during this six months of
work in Belo Horizonte, at either Alcova Libertina or
Titanic Cultural.

This tattoo represents the care we had towards each

other, the trade between artists, lovers, and friends.
After all you’ll be forever on my skin, and I know that
I’ll keep resonating this queer noise through the world.

text by Thiakov Davidovich

We made an exchange of our artistic skills, tattooing, and sound design lesons.

All the tattoo was done wholly on Flavia’s free interpretation on the
Thiakov’s concept,“Here, randomness, colors, splash”.
No markers were use to guide the tattooing.
