Intrigo
INTRIGO — now a major Hollywood produc on, directed
by Daniel Alfredson
Håkan Nesser’s books have sold over 15 million copies worldwide and
are translated into more than 30 languages. Now, his works will hit the
silver screen, as his short stories are adapted into three Hollywood
feature films. Shoo ng of the three films took place over the summer
2017, with 330 crew filming in four countries. The movies are in post‐
produc on now, with the first one to premiere in cinemas October
2018.
INTRIGO, the book, is a one‐volume collec on of five short stories that
the films are based upon, published in early 2018. The stories are:
the specially‐commissioned short story, Tom; Rein: Death of an Au-
thor; Dear Agnes; Samaria; and All Informa on in the Case.
The three films and the five stories all share the same se ng; the fic ‐
ous Maardam of Håkan’s van Veeteren detec ve series. They also
share the same narra ve structure, dealing with the problems of dark Rights Sold
