With Mr. Arlett’s victory, | cannot and will not support his candidacy. Our State By-Laws are very clear (Article VI, Section 18) that | must, however, to continue as a Party official. | will not violate these By-Laws nor will | compromise my value system. While some people may think By-Laws are mere guidance, they are the laws to which we must adhere. They are in place for our own protection and should not be selectively enforced. In my opinion, Mr. Arlett lacks the character and integrity needed to lead our Ticket and receive my support. | have supported Republican candidates in the past 46 years that did not necessi share my policy views but none, however, that | didn’t respect as a person. What hurts the most here is that with Mr. Arlett heading the Ticket some very good candidates will lose that should not, perhaps even our potential Candidate for Governor in 2020. Don’t laugh, look at Ken's ballot position and then look upballot. It’s going to be a Tidal Wave above him. While Mr. Truono may not have wanted to share critical information about Mr. Arfett that will eventually derail his candidacy, rest assured, Senator Carper has done his due diligence and will not hesitate, nor should he. This is not negative campaigning if it has a direct bearing on someone's ability to carry out the duties as a U.S. Senator. | will not, however, work against Mr. Arlett. | am also troubled by the direction of our current Party Leadership In Delaware. We have an elected State Vice Chair now acting as a paid Executive Director as well which again, in my pinion, is a clear conflict of interest. At our Party’s Convention in April we also violated our own Party By-Laws by stopping the vote after 3 rounds for the U.S. Senate race. | am troubled by the explanation provided by the State Chair. He stated that the Candidates agreed to it (Mr. Truono | can tell you did not). ts also not the Chairman's or the Candidates involved right to make this decision nor is it even the Delegates right to break the State Party By-Laws by voting to suspend balloting prior to the completion of the Sth round. The handling of filing fees for State-wide candidates was also a debacle and continues to be with the Chairman wanting to return Mr. Arlett’s filing fee, however, not Mr. Walker's. | understand he may be returning other filing fees as well, which according to the Treasurer, may jeopardize the Party's ability to make payroll by Page 1 of 2 year’s end. Last but not least we now have 2 convicted felons serving in very public positions within the Party, One is running the Political operations (and getting paid as a Contractor by a 3rd Party) and the other is serving on the Finance Committee. This all should be very disturbing and an embarrassment to any individual serving on the State Executive Committee today. You all have a responsibility to Republicans throughout Delaware to keep our Party ethical. ‘As an 18 year old, | registered as a Republican because I thought it was the Party of personal responsibility and ethics. Our State Party is dying from the inside out and unless changes are made quickly it will be a non-force in this State very soon. | also did not agree to accept my position on this Committee to be someone's rubber stamp nor should this Committee be treated as social club to sit around eating pizza and chanting “Team GOP" when it should be acting as a decision making body to bring respectability back to our Party. ‘The State Chairman stated he wanted to bring transparency back when he ran for office, however, it has been anything but. Critical decisions continue to be made without this Committee's input and | do not buy the argument in this day and age of instant communication that this effort takes too long. After 46 years of living and breathing Republican Party politics and many times at the expense of my family, itis time for me to move on and enjoy my family and retirement. Best wishes to you allin the upcoming Election cycle. | pray the name at the top of the Ticket doesn’t mean disaster for some excellent down ballot Candidates. Sincerely Peter Kopf Page 2 of 2
