“This procedure describes the control methods of pressure test ofthe pressure vessel fabricated in
scoordance with “ASME Code See.W, Div.1” and “job. Specification”.
Responsibilities
“The Mfg Sect Manager shall be responsible for performing the pressure test in accordance with this
procedure,
‘The QC Sect Manager shall be responsible for monitoring the pressure test and checking the test
results
Procedure
‘Checking of the material identification such as coded marking
Hydrostatic test shall be a QC Hold Point.
‘The QC Inspector shall check and verify the identification marking on the equipment Hydro test
pressures are indicated on the approved shop draining.
Pressure Gages
‘Two dial-indicating pressure gages shall be used in testing vessels.
One is connected dirootly to the highest location of the vessel for correct indication of the test
pressure, The other one is connected where it will be visible to the operator throughout duration
of the test and shall be used pressure & time chart for Heat Exchanger.
Indicating pressure gages shall preferably have dials graduated over a range of about double the
intended maximum test pressure, but in no case the range shall be less than 14 nor more than
4 times test pressure.
‘The gages shall be calibrated against a standard Dead-weight tester or a calibrated master gage
atleast every 6 months or at any time there is reason to believe that they ae in error.

‘The pressure in the equipment shall be increased gradually until the required test pressure has
been reached.
