Purpose
The basics of mass processing will be described here.

Overview
It will be described, what is the mass transaction for regarding production orders and an example will be shown in topic of mass release.

Basics
Transaction code: COHV
the selection screen is very similar to COOIS (order information system), but here there is a mass processing tab

here all types of mass processing can be selected which are provided as standard

With production order selection you have the functions:

With planned order selection you have the functions:

it is NOT possible to add here own mass processing functions (e.g. reread master data)! (but nearly all functions which we know from the dialog transaction CO02 can be found here)
most of the functions call transactions in the background, e.g. CO04N (mass processing for printing) or CO04… in most of the cases there are special transactions for the mass processing (like e.g.
CO12 for mass processing of confirmation), but it is recommended to use COHV
 it is possible to set whether the log should be shown after the mass processing

Example
I would like to release more production orders at the same time.

it is possible to choose the “type” of the mass processing after giving the selection criteria

if we release the orders, which already have been released, then we get info icons -> Log display: all messages are shown here which were occurring during the mass processing and it is possible to
set a filter to error/warning/successful messages

if an error occurs, it is recommended to check the dialog transaction, whether the same happens there as well (especially when by executing the function which is executed in background not in dialog)
