Profile
I am currently looking for a role on board a vessel under 3000GT as Bosun or Lead Deckhand with good
internal progression routes.

Having graduated with a degree in Yacht Production and Surveying, I have found my studies really useful,
especially when dealing with project planning and any tasks where computer skills are an advantage.

I joined Phoenix2 three years ago, as a Deckhand, progressed to Lead Deckhand and finished as Acting Bo-
sun. I left in order to complete all modules towards my OOW 3000GT licence, and hope to sit my final oral
exam next year. With my current knowledge, experience and qualifications I believe I would be an asset to
any yacht, but hope to find a post where I can continue to gain more practical experience.

Employment history
Phoenix2 - 90m - Lurssen - Lead Deckhand, Acting Bosun April 2015 - February 2018
During my time on board we did both the Mediterranean and Caribbean seasons with both Private
and Charter guests. We ran with a total crew of 28 and a deck crew of 7. My charter duties included, but
were not exclusively; morning setup, job list creation and monitoring, water sports, tender driving and es-
corting guests ashore.
Phoenix2 has a vast array of water sports equipment all of which I know how to maintain and operate in-
cluding Yamaha Wave Runners, Seabobs, Flyboard, SUP, Inflatables, Towable’s, wakeboard and waterskis.
I was one of the trusted tender drivers, driving guests in all of the tenders. The two main tenders were 9
meter custom built Sports and Limousine tenders which both operate with 2 inboard stern drives and bow
thrusters. Another tender I was very familiar with was the 8 meter Sealegs, which is an amphibious RIB,
powered by an outboard engine. Lastly the Tender we used for crew and wash downs was an 8 meter RIB
with Jet drive.

I really enjoyed the challenges of the yard periods at Lürssen, Germany and MB92, Barcelona. I was relied
upon to have meaningful input for the creation of the yard job lists. The crew was given holiday during these
yard periods, so quite often it would be left to me and the Relief Captain to work closely together with no
officers. I would assist him when meeting with the Yard to discuss current progress, the timetable and future
solutions to problems. During these times it was left to me to run the deck crew give advice, make decisions
about how to proceed and to monitor progress.

By the time I left Phoenix I was a trusted bridge watch lookout, with multiple crossings and many hours ex-
perience in some of the busiest channels in the world. I could start and hold position using main engines
and thrusters.

Magna Grecia - 64m - Elsflether Werft - Bosun. July 2018 - Present

Magna Grecia has just under gone major refit and extension. I joined two weeks before leaving for a
long owner trip. This presented a lot of problems which together with the original crew we overcame to have
a successful season. My responsibilities were ordering stores and equipment for the safe running of the
deck department. Maintaining the exterior of the vessel. Preparing lists for the yard, including warranty
work.

Saber Power Sports, Southampton - Skipper June 2013 - September 2013

Saber Power Sports is Europe's leading powerboat experience provider, operating crafts ranging from
open inflatable catamarans to 44ft Sunseekers. I had a large range of responsibilities including skippering
and teaching customers in a range of high speed vessels, mechanical maintenance and cleaning of these
powerboats. Being part of a small team resulted in us all working together to make sure the day ran perfect-
ly for customers. This involved helping each other to complete every day tasks on time; also coming up with
solutions and implementing them safely if a problem arose to ensure that clients were completely satisfied.

Go Ape, Tilgate Park, Crawley - Duty Manager February 2012 - February 2015
Go ape is the largest high ropes adventure course company in the UK. The most important skills I learnt
in this role were teamwork, customer interaction and risk assessment. On a busy Saturday I would be left
organising 20 instructors and over 1,000 customers. All the equipment used by Go Ape is also used on
yachts for high access, which was very helpful. Part of my role as duty manager was to be responsible for
monthly assessments of staff and equipment.

Interests
Water sports, Climbing, Cycling and Running.
