Wednesday:

playing at the drinking fountain and painting the easel, students stated they could drink water and/or fill up their water bottles and paint on paper shapes
2. Lining up outside written, photograph of the dumpsters and of the fence, explained how students have been walking behind the dumpsters and
hiding behind the fence, stated how it makes us teachers sad and how it is dangerous, students suggested walking in front of the dumpsters and Creative Arts – N/A

3. Sorting written, reviewed yesterday how we sorted counters by placing them into groups based on similarities, students took turns sorting the Science/Technology – observing, classifying,

Friday:
1. Personal space written, photographs of children being on top of one another and/or touching one another and/or playing rough with one another,
explained how we’ve been seeing a lot of this in the classroom, stated how if we do these things someone is going to get hurt
2. Silly vs. focused written, photograph of a child being silly and a photograph of a child being focused, explained how there are times of the day
when we need to be focused (greeting time, small-group time, large-group time, etc.) and other times when we can be silly (outside time, work time,
etc.)
3. Sorting foods written, photograph of a carrot, an apple, an orange, a cookie, and a piece of cake, students stated what foods are healthy and which
foods aren’t healthy, students sorted them into two groups, we explained how desserts have lots of sugar and make us tired where as fruits and
vegetables have vitamins and give us energy

Small Students were provided with shapes (squares, triangles, trapezoids, diamonds, and hexagons). Students used the shapes to make their own Approaches to Learning – initiative,
creations. Students created animals and other objects like robots, birds, flowers, snakes, houses, etc. Students learned to identify all of the shapes. engagement, use of resources, reflection

Time Students were provided with counters. Students sorted them by color and/or by type of animal. Students put them in separate piles. They counted Social/Emotional – community, building
how many of each color they had using 1:1 correspondence. relationships, cooperative play
Students were provided with a piece of paper with all the letters in their first name typed on it. The letters were all uppercase and all mixed up. Physical/Health – fine-motor skills, body

Students were provided with leaves and paint in order to do leaf painting. Students painted leaves with a little bit of paint and pressed the leaf
down onto a piece of paper. Students did this with a variety of leaves of different shapes, sizes, and colors. Mathematics – number words and symbols,

Students went outside and cleaned up the school environment. Each student was given a trash bag and filled it up with trash he/she found.
Students threw the trash in the dumpster. Students learned that litter is trash that is left on the ground. We explained how it can be harmful to Creative Arts – art
animals.
