This document serves as a guide which describes the necessary steps to performed in
the Support pack stack upgrade from SPS17 to SPS21 using SUM

PREPARATION
1: Make Sure Full data base backup has been taken and set the recovery model to simple
2: Generate XML from Solution Manager (MOPZ)
3: Download the SPS based on the XML
4: Lock all the users before the upgrade starts.
5: Kernel should be upgraded to the latest.
6: Make sure enough free space is available in the DATA File Drives. (~10GB – 15GB)
7: Latest SUM should be downloaded from SAP market place and uncared
8: JRE 6 should be installed on the system.
ACTUAL UPGRADE
STARTING SUM
Start SUM in SIDADM login

Note: The same user name and password to be used while restarting SUM

Delete the outstanding DB conversions

2: Select DB Request - > Mass Processing as showing in the below screenshots and select all and delete

Implement the Missing notes which are only relevant and set status of other notes as not relevant.
