Learner Service Agreement

All Service Users who engage the services of Interpreting Solutions Ltd for the supply of support
professionals are required to sign our Learner Service Agreement and by doing so, are committing
to our terms and conditions which are listed below;

SERVICE AGREEMENT
Interpreting Services Ltd will provide you with:

• A one point of contact for the duration of your support from Interpreting Solutions
• Appropriate Support to match your learning needs
• Ensure that all support is suitably qualified / registered / has a valid DBS and Insurance
to enable them to work in educational setting
• A confidential Support Service (as far as is practicable) in areas that are not study related
• Face-to-Face review meetings – upon request
• Individual advice, guidance and support at all stages of your learning, where necessary

IN SIGNING THIS LEARNING AGREEMENT, YOU AGREE:

• You have attended a Needs Assessment


• That you are in receipt of Disabled Student Allowance and have received your DSA2 letter
• You have supplied copies of the Needs Assessment, DSA2 letter and any updated support
correspondence to Interpreting Solutions Ltd
• You will supply all relevant materials pertaining to your course (inc Timetables/Semester
breaks etc) as soon as is practicable
• You will supply course materials to allow your support worker adequate preparation time as
soon as it is available
• To inform Interpreting Solutions of changes to support / timetables 15 days before the
change is implemented
• Any changes to your support schedule will be informed to Interpreting Solutions
immediately
• You have been notified of Interpreting Solutions Cancellation Policies
• In the event of a shortfall in DSA funding you will discuss alternatives with your Disability
Advisor and ensure that appropriate funding is in place
• You will ensure that you and the support worker have signed relevant timesheets
• You agree to adhere to Student Finance Englands policy on non attendance
• You agree to inform Interpreting Solutions (within 24hrs) of your non attendance at
University
• To respond to any correspondence from Interpreting Solutions at you earliest possible
convenience (but no later than 24hrs)

CANCELLATIONS
Whilst the service user is funded by either Student Finance England or the HEI, the following
standard cancellation charges apply:

0 – 7 days - 100% of the fee is chargeable

8 – 14 days - 50% of the fee is chargeable

Upon the service user or HEI requesting that the support is discontinued or moved from Interpreting
Solutions to an alternative supplier the following cancellation policy will apply, with no recourse:

Interpreting Solutions will continue to invoice for services upto 15 working days (this is in effect our
minimum notice period, however if the service user or HEI provide a minimum 15 working days
notice of the change – no fee will apply

In all instances upon the notification of change of supplier, from either party engaging the services of
Interpreting Solutions, there is an automatic default to Interpreting Solutions standard terms and
conditions, and support will be billed at full rate for the duration of the notice period

If you decide that you no longer wish to continue with you course, it is extremely important that you
notify Interpreting Solutions as soon as possible (time period NOT to exceed 7 days). Interpreting
Solutions have an obligation to inform your funding body that You no longer require the support as
described in your DSA2 letter.

This is important !
Under the rules of Student Finance England and as highlighted in your DSA2 letter – YOU (the service
user) are ultimately responsible for the payment of cancellations:

DATA PROTECTION & YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the UK Data Protection
Act 1998. Interpreting Solutions Ltd will use the information to process your request and to provide
any relevant further information (for example key facts and details about Courses, additional course
literature or related educational services etc) It will also be used to support Interpreting Solutions
Ltd’s marketing and market research activities.

We will not disclose your Personal Information to any third parties, without obtaining your consent,
unless we are so required by relevant laws and regulations. We may, however, disclose such
information to third-party service providers within the scope of our originally stated purposes,
subject to obligating such third-parties to retain the privacy of your Personal Information. We may
provide any third party with information which is not personally identifying or identifiable, in such a
manner as we may deem appropriate.
