1) PURPOSE

This Method Statement covers the On site installation of wiring devices like,
lights, power, isolators, fire alarm, CCTV, Card Access, PA Systems, Intercom
System , etc. as per the requirements and specifications.

2) SCOPE OF WORKS

This Method Statement will define the method to be used to ensure that all
wiring works as per the requirement and follow latest colour coding.
Red changed to brown. Yellow changed to black, blue changed to gray, black
changed to blue, and green as earth cable. The scope of work;

* Cover wiring for lighting point using 1.5mm 2 wire in 20mm pvc conduit

* Power wiring point 2.5mm2 using 20mm conduit.

* Fire Alarm, telephone, data, CCTV, Card Access, Intercom, PA System

use different type of cables.

* Fire Alarm using 2c 1.5mm2 / 2c 2.5mm2 screen fire resistant cable

* PA System use 1.5mm2 twisted pair screen cable

* CCTV using Cat 5 cables

* Data point use FTP cable

* Telephone point use Cat 6 Cable

* Card Access System using various type of cables like Telephone, 2 pair cable
1.5mm2 cable , etc

* MATV using Belden RG11 / RG 6 cables

3) STORAGE

All wiring materials are stored in a proper place and safe within the site
premises. Ensure that they are stored and stacked properly.

4) PRE - INSTALLATION

All materials and documents relevant to this particular section of work will
be checked and verified by Supervisor and ensure that all are correct and
approved type and approved to Local Authority requirements and meet the
proper colour coding etc.

Make sure all end to end connection work are completed.

Once wiring work is completed start the megger / insulation test and verified
by Site Supervisor / Consultant.

5) INSTALLATION

Please make sure all wiring work are as per the Construction / Shop Drawings.
The long distance circuits are passing through the electrical trunking.
Flexible conduit shall be used to connect trunking to the pull box for circuit
wiring.

All switch points are located 1200mm above the floor level. Lighting points
are located / lights are mounted in the ceiling board with necessary supports.
The connection from junction box to the fixtures are using flexible conduits.

Power points are coming from the floor. The mounting height of the sockets are
300mm above the floor high level sockets are located in the ceiling space /
2100mm for sliding door and aircon points.

Ensure that all switches, sockets box are fix properly and aligned. Make sure all
switches / sockets points are earthed.

Lighting circuit use 1.5mm2 wire in 20mm pvc conduit.

For power sockets wiring shall be 2.5mm2 wire in 20mm pvc conduit as per
the requirements.

Technicians make cables as per the circuit labels.

All circuits are bring to the DB through conduits and trunking.

All conduits are located up to floor and ceiling space only

Metal trunking will be used to connect all cables from the conduit to the DB
from ceiling space and floor space.

All cables are tested / labelled during termination to the DB.

6) INSPECTION

Arrange the inspection test witnessed by relevant people / Consultants for

further record and verifications.
