Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
Knowledge Constructor: Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce
creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others.
Creative Communicator: Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the
platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Haiku Deck is a presentation tool that is very similar to Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint. With it, students can make a basic
slideshow presentation with the provided templates for many kinds of slides. A few things that were missing are slide transitions
and being able to include links on slides. The pricing ranges from $9.99 to $29.99 per month, but they offer special pricing for
educators and students.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PRESENTATION
How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students’ presentation/speaking/communication skills?
Because it is similar to other presentation tools, it applies in the same ways. Haiku Deck is there to enhance the information in a
visually pleasing way and give the students a place to all of the information they need. While speaking, they are able to look at it
and remind themselves of where they are going with the presentation.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
• Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
• Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would give Haiku Deck a 2 on the value-added rating scale. Like I said before, it enhances the information and it is able to engage
students who favor visual-learning. It would be given as a suggested platform when students are creating presentations. Though, I
will model it for them, they will ultimately be the ones using it.
